The sewer vignette tells a great story, it'll be hard to beat how perfectly it portrays the characters. Luckily, there are plenty of other characters in the TMNT universe to build a vignette around. Casey Jones is my obvious first pick, "Goongala!"

How about content from the licensed "TMNT" role-playing game from days of yore? It's probably the only Turtle-themed item in my possession. (If memory serves, Eastman and Laird did the art for it, too.)

Are you asking just to test the limits to the contest or do you have something specific in mind?

I was just old enough to have never bothered with the cartoons, so it's pretty much the only knowledge base I have in mind. Does Baxter Stockman exist in any of the other media realms, or was he a RPG-centric character? (I know how long wiki articles get for pop culture stuff, and mostly just hoped for a Y/N on him.)

^ You're good to go now, no issues at all with the updated vig. That's a fantastic first entry.

I'm going to leave the explanation below in case someone else runs into the same problems, hope you don't mind.
I originally wrote:That is an awesome vig and it pains me to have to disqualify it, but rules are rules.
Please see the annotated image below for clarification:
Image

To reiterate: the maximum dimensions are 16x16 studs. Minor overhang of up to one stud beyond the limit is acceptable but that does not mean you can build beyond the 16x16 limit. It just means that if you have something in your scene that hangs over the 16x16 boundary by less than a stud you don't have to worry. Things like the barbed wire and brick turned at an angle in the scene above are fine. The ooze canister is pushing it because that appears to be more than one stud beyond the base, but that's a simple fix because it can be nudged back into the allowable boundary. The large black tiles on the sides of the base on the other hand can not. Those are not overhang.

The good news is you have plenty of time to fix it. So. Please do that because I really want this vig to count.

Hello everyone! TMNT has got to be my favorite line by LEGO since Exo-Force, and I might even like it more than that. It hits the nostalgia just right, and as a bonus, turned me on to the great Nick cartoon currently airing. When I saw the contest, I knew it was time to get a FBTB account set up, and try my hand at a vignette. I've never actually built a MOC on a 16x16 base before, and it was a fun challenge. I'll post a link to more pictures when I take them. and thanks for hosting an awesome contest!

-Mike

(edit) Here's an overview of the whole vignette (incomplete) to show that it adheres to the rules of the contest!

Is it wrong that I want to win more for the DVD set than the LEGO set?

OMG is the start of a LEGO Dim age? and end of my TMNT dark age? :O

(that vig/contest poster is an epic build and presentation)

We kind of hoped that would be the case with some people. Glad to see it's working.

Because I didn't think I would like the Turtles in LEGO, but was forced to eat my words. Here's my movie inspired entry.

Thank to onions and Solo for a great contest idea and to Nickelodeon and LEGO for bringing back fond childhood memories and helping me make new ones with my son. T.U.R.T.L.E. Power!

Hello everyone, I have not posted here in a veeery long time but Don Solo’s vignette got me inspired to give this one a try.
I guess you could call my entry the “origin’s prequel” or something like that.

Nancy: Good grief Jim, that hideous thing has grown even bigger now!
Jim: Don't worry hon', I got this.
Nancy: But.. what about Mia?
Jim: meh..we'll get her an iPad.

The full vignette can be seen here.
oh, and the Turtle is Mikey!

I just did (at least the '87 and '12 versions) ! I guess you could say I took a bit of a creative license.. or you could consider that this silly little scene is the reason Splinter or the little boy got a hold of a fourth turtle in the first place (hence the “prequel” aspect!).

I based my entry on my favorite TMNT memory: pumping millions of quarters into the TMNT arcade game at the roller rink in middle school. The screen is my best approximation of the opening level, "Fire!" and comes in two configurations - Leonardo with a red Foot Soldier or Raphael being zapped by a Roadkill Rodney.

Always excited when a new contest comes out! I have not attempted a vignette in the past, so this will be a fun contest. Now I need to run to the Lego store and buy some Turtles!!

Mine was loosely inspired by the first movie, though I imagine this situation happens a lot in the TMNT universe. Just slip the pizza through the grate, Dude.

I do wish I had the sticker sheet from the Shellraiser, just to jazz up the pizza box. Oh, well.
