10232 Palace Cinema Now Available for VIP Members

Postby Staff » Thu Feb 14, 2013 12:07 pm

Just a heads up that if you're a VIP member and logged into your account on LEGO Shop@Home, you can now purchase 10232 Palace Cinema to add to your modular building layout. If you're not logged in, the above links will lead you to the home page. If that happens, just log in and click on "What's New" in the navigation bar and you should see it as the first item listed. The price is $149.99 USD and it comes with 2,194 pieces.

If you have patience though, and wait two weeks you can score the MINI Republic Frigate set as well as free shipping starting March 1. If you have even more patience and like the idea of Double VIP points over free shipping, you'd have to wait until March 25th.

This is at the top of my must have list this year. One hand I can;t afford it right now. Really indifferent to the free polys so I'll just wait for double VIP points

Bought it today. Looks nice but it is one of the lower brick count of these creator sets.

I wouldn't say it was a lower brick count. Excluding the Town Hall (as it's $50 more than all the other sets), the Palace Cinema is actually third largest out of the six $150 modulars (CC - 2056, GG - 2352, FB - 2231, GE - 2182, PS - 2032, PC - 2196). The 2196 pieces for this set is also above the average of the first five $150 sets which was 2171.

Having said that, obviously the limo takes bricks away from the main build.

OK - I'm putting my calculator down now :)

 , fair enough. I was basing my count on the other comparative sets in the collection but good to know.

Also I just started the build and first thing out the box is the limo which while is a nice design I have one quibble is that the tires seem too small against the car as the wheel well seems to take up so much of the sides to the body.

I started with building the Palace sign, and that's really neat.
