TRU Has a Decent Sale; Also, 2013 Sets Spotted

The headline is tru. (See what i did there?) Toys'R'Us is actually having a decent sale despite their usual holiday price gouging mark up. Example: 7879 Hoth Echo Base MSRP is $89.99, TRU price is normally $94.99, sale price is $63.64, about a 30% discount. Only the items on this page seem to qualify but the kicker is that most of the sets on that page are actually pretty cool.

In other TRU news, it seems that 2013 Ninjago and TRU sets have been hitting the shelves. Proof? Proof is below. Assuming the price tags are correct, that A-wing set is marked at $27.99, so I'm thinking it's either $19.99 or $24.99 regular MSRP.

I saw all these yesterday at my TRU, but I missed the Daily Bugle Spider-Man set. Would have picked that up no question, but I will say that the new release of Ninjago sets look really good.

Yeah. The TRU tax seems to be moot these days, but I still see it repeatedly mentioned on AFOL blogs, with little acknowledgment of the price matching.

I think it has to be a sale ad or flier. I don't know if they'd price match a standard, everyday LEGO catalog, Fisher Price catalog, or whatever. As always, I guess it depends on the employee who is helping you.

Picked up Helms Deep for 93.xx They also ran a sale for 25 back over 100, but apparantly that doesn't apply to sets already on sale, even though "sets already on sale" was not one of the exceptions on the list (TMNT and Technic). Not sure of the life of the 25 back, but the sale on Helms Deep ended today.
