Christmas Scenes 2012?

Postby The Phantom Menace » Mon Oct 29, 2012 1:04 pm

Any news on whether Lego will be doing some similar sets to the two-parter Christmas scene that they did last year?

Are Lego preparing any offers this year where after spending X amount you get a free Christmas set?

I'm waiting for word on how I can get my hands on 30182, the Santa Claus polybag set. That's going in at least one stocking for sure if I can find it...

Not sure if that awesome Creator Santa is gonna be available widely, but the instructions are up on LEGO's site.

Other than the obvious Advent calendars and the 10229 Winter Village set, I've seen a few polybags in the news, but that's about it.

Oh, man, now I want those, too. I've got three kids. Those plus the Santa would make a perfect set (though I'm not sure I'm putting any LEGO in the oldest's stocking this year. I was thoroughly disappointed that he never even opened the polybags I put in there last year. They are still sitting in his room, despite numerous suggestions to build them. :( )

There will be a promotional Christmas set available for free after a £50 ($99) spend as part of a the Brick-Friday promotions.

Well that'll be useless to me, unless you also have the option to buy it on its own...

(Good info, though.)

Looks like we've got an image of the Brick Friday exclusive set, 3300014. Thanks to Grogall over at Brickset.

Well that's pretty neat. Still hoping that the polybags from earlier in the thread (and the 30182 Santa) show up somewhere and in some form (i.e. not part of a promotion that requires a large purchase) that I can snag them.

I'm having horrible luck with polybags this year. So many I've wanted, so few I've so much as seen evidence of in stores (much less actual, available copies in stores).

I picked up 40034 and 40035 at my local LEGO store for $4.99 a pop...haven't seen 'em anywhere else.

So this year's holiday exclusive set is pretty rad

I like it...it will go nicely with the expanding Christmas village! Unlike last year's vignette...

set # 3300014

I'm not sure what the requirements will be, but last year I think it was spend $75 in Oct/Nov and get part 1 of the vignette, and from Brick Friday on same requirement for part 2...from what I remember anyway.
