Update: Amazon has now matched the price for 10188 Death Star.

Walmart blinks first as they are selling 10188 Death Star for only $339.97. That's $60 off MSRP of $399.99, a 15% discount. Free shipping kicks in and you'll be paying tax out the door. They haven't yet, but expect Amazon to follow suit.

The local LEGO Retail Store, Potomac Mills, has staff stating that the Death Star 10188 has been discontinued/is retiring/is being retired. I don't have any written or posted proof of this. It is the holiday season and the store has them in stock, so...

At this point it's anyone's guess. There were tons of rumors that is was retiring last year too....it has been out for 4 years, but it's also their leading seller in terms of dollars, so from a financial perspective it wouldn't make much sense to discontinue it quite yet.
