While I'm all for more accuracy in sets, I think two studs is too wide a split; 6207 more closely resembled the source material without it. One stud's width
would have been preferable, and one plate's thickness
even better, albeit unrealistic in a LEGO set.
I couldn't agree more about the guns, though.
That picture is from the New Essential Guide published in 2003 - hardly classic. You want this
illustration from the 1996 Guide, or a sketch from the RPG sourcebooks if any exist.
Back on topic, I often see 7259, 7140, and several other sets with the wings built facing backwards in collection photos and the like (including, if I recall correctly, one of the X-wings avatars used on the old FBTB forums). Is there a reason for this? I've always assumed it was due to regional differences in building instructions, but that doesn't seem likely.
