Wedding Post Box ...

Postby bigospedros » Fri Nov 16, 2012 5:24 am

I'm getting married next year and we are trying to reflect our various interests in the ceremony and reception. One of those tasks was to construct a Post Box for cards and what not, that people may bring along ... and here's what I've built! It has our initials on the post box, an opening door and the space where collection information normally is on a real post box, will contain a printed message on the day ... comments are welcome ...

Sorry about the crappy photos and the fact that this is basically just a big red box! ;)

Very very cool and creative! It really looks like a postal box.

Only thing I would add to it would be to tile up the bottom of the box so that the first cards in it don't get damaged.

This post box is seriously cool. I would love to do something similar. How many bricks did you need and what type? Thanks!

That looks GREAT! I wonder how difficult it would be to make the initials section modular? Not that you're going to get married again, but to make it easier to swap out an ER or GR...or you could loan or rent the box out to folks, and put their initials on it. Not just impressive on size and scale, but the details, too, nice job!

Congratulations on the nuptials. A man is not complete until he's married. Then, he's finished.

Various basic bricks and plates really. Nothing particularly rare or out of the ordinary. I just bought a lot of red and went from there!

Yeah, after the wedding I had the same thought. This thing is still built and I could quite easily make that a removable panel. My only worry about rental is getting it to where it needs to go, as I can hardly post it. It's a) massive and b) quite fragile as essentially it's just a big box! We'll see ... we've just had our first baby so I think I have other priorities for the time being!
