I don't know as much about superheroes as some might imagine, and this is my first ever mech.
but here goes. I've chosen The Penguin.
The Penguin's backstory is, of course, a matter of contention. I can't quite remember.
Geeky troubled teen Oswald Cobblepot gained supervillain powers when he was bitten by a radioactive penguin. No wait.
Former speciality male escort and antarctic animal fanatic Oswald Cobblepot chose to follow a life of crime and named himself after his faithful pets and companions. No that's not it.
After deciding on a life of crime, orphaned millionaire Oswald Cobblepot was pondering a suitable fear-inspiring super villain name, when a giant winged creature smashed through the window of his late father's study.

"I have seen it before, somewhere. It frightened me as a boy. Frightened me. Yes father, I shall become... a penguin"
Or something like that.
Most mechs boast of their superior firepower, and The Penguin's is certainly tooled up enough to be able to match anything that's thrown at him. In mech to mech combat though, The Penguin's excels, as it's low centre of gravity make it a formidable foe. The penguin's mech can be a clumsy mover on land, but in water- or in space, this mech is hard to beat.

Pre-Secret Crisis, The Penguin had been planning to create a whole army of these menacing machines: they were to wade out of Gotham's harbour en masse to take the city. Oswald knew that neither Commissioner Gordon nor Batman would have the power to stop him. The secret crisis though has meant that Oswald's plans have had to be altered, and he allows himself to pilot the deadly prototype to engage with both his oldest foes and rivals, as well as the most powerful of intergalactic strangers. Boy. Go get 'em Penguin!

Great challenge FBTB, thanks again. Who'd've thought how important those choices of joints would be to maintaining balance and stability.
More Penguin goodness here:
