Harley's Harlequinn (Villain)

"Hey Mr J, Mr J, where are you?" cried Harley from the cockpit of her newly acquired mech.
"Look what I've got!" Harley looked around for the Joker, but couldn't see any sign of him.

Oh well, thought Harley, he was always having so much fun with crazy contraptions built in his likeness (she remembered the flaming hot air balloon with fondness), now it was her turn to have some fun!

The Minifig

There are more photos in the set on Flickr: Harley's Harlequinn on Flickr

The mech can stand unsupported, but is a little unstable if the legs are not positioned correctly, so in some shots, a base can be seen which was added purely to make the photographing process easier.

Here is my entry, Superman's ultra enemy, Lex Luthor's Battle Armor

That Lex Luthor Armor is sweet – that Lex Luthor set has a lot of great pieces to build krypto mechs and androids

I agree that this is definitely better than the official set, but I'd have been significantly more impressed had it have been a completely unique MOC.

Essentially this is a recoloured version of the two mechs you've previously built (at least 80% of it looks to be the common framework you mentioned i.e. legs, torso, shoulders, or has either come from SSA-DS-01 i.e. the arms, or SSA-SM-01, i.e. the cockpit to which you've just added a windscreen).

Don't get me wrong, SSA-DS-01 and SSA-SM-01 are both very impressive, I just think reusing them in this way is a little against the spirit of the competition (as technically what you've built is a new MOC based on two pre-existing MOCs, so it's not exactly breaking the no pre-existing MOCs rule, but in my opinion, it could be considered bending it).

Imo proper response would be "Sweeet Christmas!"

I just about died when I read this.

this isn't quite enclosed enough seeing as to how his hands are fully exposed to the elements.

you still got a week to rework your magic.

You must use Flickr to host your entry pictures because we rely on the built in image resizing feature. If you do not have an account, you can sign up for free, or ask someone to upload it for you. Once uploaded you will need to embed the photo in the forum. To do so:
  1. go to the flickr photo page for your image
  2. click the little down arrow above your photo to the right of the icons
  3. click "Grab the HTML/BBCode" from that drop down menu
  4. check the bubble next to "BBCode" (HTML will not work)
  5. copy the code from the box above and paste that into a reply here
  6. do not add any more code tags
  7. click Preview to verify that it worked, then Submit.
If it didn't work, ask for help. Simply linking to your photo will not qualify.

Thanks, I was contemplating either to use Chitauri or Loki but, SInce the recent Avengers movie loki was using chitauris for world domination, i just figured he wants a mecha chitauri as well to protect himself and to fight with it other than flying sitting behind the Chitauris puny little speeders and smashed to the floor by Hulk. so he build one :)

Onions, Solo, Is my entry okay or should I change the minifigure to a Chitauri?

I'll toss my hat in with my first Mech and first FBTB post

My Magneto Mech I went campy with the giant magnet on top, theory was to enhance Magneto's powers even more (Can you do that to an Omega Class Mutant?)
magnetic repulsor/griper boots for flying and gripping
Electromagnetic shielding generator on the back
Electromagnetic pulse array that lets him focus EM waves from atomic level to basically as big as he wants (blue spiny thing)
Magnetic attractor repulsor array (big magnet on top)

Edit: Magneto falls on his usual bad guy side for this one

It seems to me that eighty percent or so of these mechs can barely stand on their own, if at all, from what I've seen of the hips and legs.

Something to consider when casting your vote

Or not, if you prefer. (I can understand promoting your own mech, but can we leave the negative politics for the politicians this time of year? ;) )

lol, I know it seems that way, and there's an element of truth to it, but mine stands because that's something I believe in. There are several great mechs in the contest that look very playable and posable, even more so than mine. That gorilla one, for instance, is much better than mine and looks very sturdy. Same with the AIM one.

Anyway, I really don't want to be that nasty guy. I hope it didn't come across too much like that; I just believe in engineering I guess.
