Pretty good deal as tax or shipping usually kills a sale on this one. I know Amazon has more physical locations causing tax to be charged to more locations but we don't have that problem yet in Georgia. If it makes you feel any better, I pay tax on Lego online orders with two store locations nearby.

Awesome deal. Anyone get it at this price? Thinking about it. If I remember correctly the last time Amazon had it at this price it only lasted a short time.

This is a very tempting offer...I interned at Amazon this past summer so get an additional 10% off, so comes out to about $324 for me. I'm just wondering if they would ever have a cheaper price i.e. black friday, or if legoshop would ever put it on a big sale.

i can't remember the death star ever going on sale. if it did, it was more than 1.5 years ago.

the ssd did go down 20% during may the 4th this year though

The Death Star is certainly worth getting on sale if you can afford it. I have no regrets getting it at full price.

Yeah I'd be getting it right now if I didn't have it yet... word is they just stopped production on them. So whatever stock is left is all they've got. Also helps explain the out of stock they had at S@H A short time ago, too. It's also been basically 4 years to the month since it was released, a good time to end the set I'd say.

Does LEGO regularly announce when sets go out of production? The only time I heard of them making announcement was the 10179 Falcon.

For all we know, they could be giving the Death Star another year....supposedly it's still selling well so from a financial perspective, why would you end it?
