Amazon Discounts The Mines Once Again

Amazon has slashed the price on 9473 The Mines of Moria once again down 16% to $67.25. Not as good as our last mention, but with the rising cost of gas ($4.21 a gallon where I'm at), no tax to most states, and free shipping, it's a no-brainer. Plus, if you're like me and just want to get the fellowship, you get 4 out of the 9 members in this one set (Pippin, Boromir, Gimli, Legolas). Plus a cave troll!

Just a heads up that I ran into this set for $43 at Walmart last week. I couldn't believe it! My son scored that day :-) I am in San Diego and I have no idea if that is a wider thing than just my local store, but it may be worth a look.

The idea is that you take the UNOPENED one you get from Amazon, and return THAT to the store where you paid full price, for a refund. Unless the store you bought from has some way of distinguishing product that wasn't sold by their store, that SHOULD work.

Wow, just bought it Wednesday at $66.49 and saw today that it's gone down to $61.91. How low can she go.

That's the lowest I've seen. I got mine a couple weeks ago at $63.

I was hesitant to pick this set up at the full $80. I snagged one at Walmart for $56 and thought it was a good set at that price. I think $60 is a pretty reasonable price for it. My two year old loves to play with it, as well. She's played with it and Weathertop more than I have.

I find it tempting just for architecture's sake. I've always liked the castleish sets, and love the detail in this one.
Anyone know if the troll's arms would fit a dinosaur body?
