You have to view this for the close-up picture alone!

I found a minifig head that wasn't ours inside an air conditioner we let some friends borrow for the summer. Not as interesting as this kids' story.

:roll: Doesn't look like any Lego piece or tyre I've ever seen...
As others across the web have already mentioned: it looks much more like the rubber protective cover of an in-ear headphone bud.
Dumb people and non-critical media giving Lego a bad name.

But seriously, I also agree that it's not a LEGO piece at all.
