Please CHECK the FUNCTION of YOUR caps LOCK key. THANK you. :)

I liked how the designers were messing with each other at the end of the video.

That was different. I like how it got weird toward the end. Great set, awkward social dynamic.

I know! It gave me a bit of a giggle.

It certainly is a lovely looking set though. I doubt I'll be able to afford it, or even justify spending the money on it, but I really enjoyed seeing some of it's features and details. Very cool. :)

Sorry I was just a little excited was not paying attention to that. I want some more details on this thing. This would look so awesome in an office.

Want. Want want want. Want, want want want want want want.

Seriously, that looks so fantastic. I dread to think what the price might be, but in this case I'm not sure I'll mind being extorted.

I stitched this together from the video for those who can't watch it right now:

Some thoughts on the model itself: I thought it would be bigger. Wasn't the UCS Yoda bigger? I don't know. At least it's not as small as that Target model from a wile back. And better detail for sure. I hope the regular blue bits slipped in at random, most noticeably on the main eye, are placeholders for dark blue. I really dislike the coin return being cut in half like that, and the vent plate next to it is poorly placed facing completely to the side but I guess there wasn't enough room to work with. I like the fold out arms and opening doors. The retractable center leg is a nice feature although the stance seems off slightly. Would have preferred it to be on wheels instead of boat tiles. I guess a light and/or sound brick integrated into the head would be asking too much. Dome came out nice and round, I was worried about that. The lower edge details on the body and feet is cool. The legs look pretty nice.

So, as expected, some issues to complain about but overall I quite like it.

Great set! I keep watching it over and over. I thought the stance was a bit off w/ the third leg down, but i compared it to shots on the web and it's not too far off, so that's forgiveable.

Just waiting on the price! I bet this set will be ready for the annual May the 4th Be With You event...i'd be shocked if it wasn't.

This is a big negative for me. I can't think of any reason not to include wheels unless the foot construction is too awkward or weak to support wheels. I rarely mod official sets, but in this case, I might have to. I really shouldn't have to. Lego.

I have doubts that I'll get this, but there certainly is a lot that could have been done (wheels, motors, lightsaber launches, lights, etc). Each one of those would probably drive up the price... but without knowing the price, it's hard to say if that's an issue or not. My guess is it'll be about $150 or so, but seeing where the UCS SSD was priced, I could see them pushing it higher just because ($200, $250, etc).

Sorry if there is some obvious way around this or if this is a silly question that someone has posted before but is there a reason why it says " This video is private" whenever i try to watch it?

I think it's worth mentioning that none of the prop R2D2s from any of the films had more than a couple gadgets or gimmicks at best, so trying to pack everything we want into a 1/4ish scale brick built official model is sort of unreasonable. That retractable leg surely took up a lot of real estate. Free-spinning wheels in the side feet should have been possible at the very least though.

Maybe each one will be randomly packed with one or two of R2's tools? Here's hoping I get the one with jets and a tow cable!

I would have liked the wheels, and I feel the periscope was a glaring omission.

The good news is they left out the jets, which was the Episode II moment in which R2 was forever ruined.

I don't think they needed to put them all in there, but a lot of the ones that could be added wouldn't have consumed a lot. I'm loving the saw, but they could have slipped in some rockets (especially without wheels or support), or the parascope. Sure, a lightsaber launcher would have been hard... but imagine how awesome that would have been.

Especially with the graphic they use for the "do not shoot in eye." Even if they didn't launch it, you'd think they could have made the space to open it and slide it out.
