Wow - the quality of all the entries so far is crazy. I'm very excited because I've built my first MOC since I was a kid (a long time ago) so thought this competition would be a good opportunity to come out of the Dark Ages. I built mine a couple of weeks ago but just haven't got round to taking pics yet. I just hope that no-one posts one for my character before I do. Especially if it's better than mine

it doesn't matter if someone else posted a pod of the minifig you wanted to use. there's no rule against podracers based on duplicate minifigures.

Interesting question(s) for the higher ups:
If I were to say hypothetically build multiple entries for the contest and kept them secret from the judges and only submitted the one I deemed contest worthy would I be disqualified? If not and I were to hypothetically say make the models semi public (hidden from the judge's flickr accounts) and had peeps vote on which should be submitted would I be DQ'd?

Also for the upcoming star wars display I'm guessing y'all will want pod racers to bulk up the display? Right?. . .Right?

Two last questions: If a person builds multiple podracers, but only enters one, can they post the others, not as part of the contest? And my sister wants to enter. We live in the same houshold; can we both enter different podracers ?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter how many racers you make and post elsewhere, as long as the you only submit the one entry here. And that it's brand new, and follows all the other minutae of the rules.

And I don't think there's a rule about multiple entries per household as long as they are built and posted by unique people with unique accounts, again following all the other rules.

Tin toy Robot Man gets his very on podracer for the 2012 FBTB Challenge based on tin toys from the 1930s/1940s. Engines are flying saucers using hyperphotonic megadimensional displacement drives (that's the silliest name I could think of) and his pod is based on a rocket ship from the same era. More pics (including details and a bit of the SNOTty undersides) on my flickr page. Enjoy!

(btw I refrained from lighting up the colored trans in the engines for fear of breaching the rules but I'll try to have a go at it and put it up on flickr sometime)
