German Toy Fair 2012 ... Star Wars

Postby Staff » Fri Feb 03, 2012 6:33 am

First Star Wars Shot from German Toy Fair

The first reports suggested that photos were not allowed, but this website from Slovenia seems to have some photos.  The  only (to date) Star Wars one to appear is above, which gives us a little sneak peak of a few of the sets, including the Malevolence.  I'm sure more photos will follow ...

Oh, look at all that dark blue and dark red on those... I'm not a clone wars guy but I love that the new colors are finally coming out in more than just accent parts.

I'm just liking the green astromech droid in the JSF!

What's the planet with the X-Wing? Yavin IV?

Is it just me, or does that kinda look like a Friends minidoll next to Dooku?

What's that robot below the red starfighter? It looks like an astromech, but bigger.

Yes. Yes it does. What's up with that? Is that a clone wars Padmé (finally)?

These all look pretty decent, but the only one of these that I'm at all likely to get is the Republic Starfighter, and I'm not entirely sure about that one. What I really want to see are the two sets with Jabba, and the Avengers sets.

After seeing the photo of the Malevolence, I'm a fan. I was very lukewarm on it w/ the preliminary photos, but I'm definitely a buyer on that set. The other ship...clearance. :)

Yes, it's a new Padme figure.

It's T7-01 ... from what I recall, it has a square body, normal droid legs and then a mix of different sized dishes to make up the head piece.

The original poster of these pics has more here BUT, there are no more pictures of the Star Wars sets, sadly :(

I have been eagerly awaiting for Malevolence for so many years but I must say I am disappointed by what have seen in the picture. The back of the ship in the picture is way too fat compared to the original design and the front of the ship is too flat. I am seriously hoping that the person who set up the display left the back and front wings/flaps open by mistake.

I'm fairly certain that's the case.

Gungan Sub Picture ... you can just about see the new Queen Amidala figure, although not quite the whole fig (which is a shame).

And a longer video here ... featuring more of the sets, including the Gungan Sub and Skiff

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTLlfvgizZU

Also, comes with free, annoying commentary! ;-)

I gotta agree with that. The commentary is usually just someone droning on and on in one, continuous, monotone sentence. At least this guy tries to get excited about it, even if he doesn't seem to know exactly what everything is.
