[MOC Batman] Batman Returns

Postby lego-maniac » Fri Nov 18, 2011 3:14 am

Hi All !
Here is my last work on the super heroes theme.
This moc will be my entry for the EB lego Batman contest.

This creation is directly inspired by the second opus of Tim Burton : Batman Returns.
I've tried to catch all the most important scenes of the film into a 32X32 diorama.
(give your browser a minute, the pic is a animated pic ;) )

Here is a link to the Gallery where I've host orignal pics from the movie that inspired me

If ever you have any suggestion to the way to present this creation on EB it will be great. ;)
Waiting for your comments !

I hope you mean your latest work, not your last ;)

If I was to make a criticism, which I will, It's that the tight quarters make it difficult to enjoy all the detail you put into it. On the up side, you've taught me that if I do something similar it would be an advantage (and pretty gorram cool) to have the creation split in the middle. With a hinge perhaps.

Otherwise, great idea and well exectuted. Good luck in the contest!

First thanks to front it !!
Then, Yes you're right that's my latest and not last creation, but concerning Batsy I think it's now turn to turn the page.
I have in mind to develop more creations about films. (I'm actually thinking about Evil Dead XD )

About the spliting, I've think about it but the idea was abandonned becauce I've used big archs and not half archs for the sewers. (do not have enough half archs...) and moreover, as the lights are crossing the road, it's impossible to use hinges
Even if the moc is not easy to shoot, the atmospher is interesting.

I think you've missed something. I know it's not easy to see on the big pics but don't you feel the snow on Gotham ? XD

Dude, if you start doing Evil Dead/Army of Darkness MOCs you've got a fan waiting in the wings for a peek.
Be warned, I'm very critical of Ash related... well everything!
Good Luck!

HOLY CRAP, that's cool. The Ninjago bad guy heads are PERFECTLY used here, and I have to say I love the simple but incredibly effective execution of the upside-down round plates as the manhole covers!

The animation is a cute touch, but I found it flipping too fast and wanted to take my time perusing the individual pictures at my leisure. I managed fo find the link to the gallery at your blog, and I would suggest linking directly to it in the future.

oups, you're right. The link to the galery is in the post I've linked but maybe to hidden.
The animation was just a way to present 6 or 8 pics in only one. I still do not know how to present it on EB.

For the upside down plate, they are hidden holes and led and more over fences to give this effect :

Just few words about your proposition to use hinge. Something like this ? XD

Oh, WOW, I didn't even notice the light-up Batsignal before! There are so many details here, I find something new every time I look.

At the begining, the cave was made to welcome a batmobile.
I've tried one that could be seen here :
Image
but 2 things :
1/ this batmobile is the more catastrophic batmobile ever seen.
then, I make this one : http://www.fbtb.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=6692 but a little too big for the cave.

and 2/ After reflexion, I think that we could see something else than a batmobile in a batman's Moc. don't you ?

So it becames the batman's control center :
