So here's my entry. It was inspired by a LEGO car my brother designed when we were kids that had a huge front axle and tiny back axle. It does have four wheels, you can check the set on Flickr for that.

I have some breaking news! After several failed attempts, and late nights... Bruce Wayne has finally approved the blueprints for the new BatMobile. A special team has been assembled to carry out the task, at the moment I dont have any names but I'm told it will be under some very watchful eyes including my own. Pictures to follow as soon as I get wind of anything...

I take the rules in considerations and It's made 100% green part instead of the tires...

As my Batmobile, the roof could be opened and a minifig could seat and drive the car.

On the roof Hal Jordan has materialised a giant laser gun to fight the vilains !
The overal look is retro, it could be refered to ghostbusters' car

OK, here's my Batmobile. I heard about this contest yesterday and started planning this model last night. I sketched it and started on the wheel arms before I went to sleep. Today was my day off so I spent pretty much the whole day at my LEGO table in my boys room. Please check out my Flickr page to see the rest of the photos. This photo only shows it in one configuration. The wheel arms spread out for off-roading and cornering stability to make this the most adaptable Batmobile ever.

Nice job guys.... with two weeks to go you can relax now... unlike many builders out there, including myself, I've just lost two of my 'wing' men builders, I think the Joker won't want this project to see the light

Electric BATWInG Batmobile by SPARKART!, on Flickr

BATWInG is an acronym for Baro Active Technology Wave Inducing Guide, a system created to enhance aerodynamic efficiency. The BATWInG system measures forces along the rear aerodynamic foils, then calculates and modifies the geometry of the foils in real-time to induce air pressure waves which reduce the overall wake and drag of the moving vehicle. It's a lot of math. Each wheel is propelled by a dedicated 400 HP electric motor.

To commemorate the sad end of Lego's DesignByMe, here is the LDD development file for this model. There are small differences between the physical model and the LDD plan: The front tires are low profile, the lights are transparent pieces, and 1x2 slopes are used instead of 1x1 slopes. As of today, you can buy the bricks and elements in the LDD plan directly from Lego and make your own Electric BATWInG Batmobile, or use Lego Digital Designer to examine the model more closely and make changes to create your own custom version.

slick. i priced out the kit and it came up at $50.93 for 208 pieces. so pretty much the same price per parts ratio as a star wars set.

i wish there was a way to have LDD just generate the instruction file. maybe i'm not well versed enough in the program to do that.

It's very interesting to see how much the Tumbler has influenced the design of Batmobiles.
