br.ckfaced, just to be clear, your entry does not have a prisoner hold/compartment, but rather drags them behind on a chain?

Yep, the prisoner is "held" in chains behind the ship. :) Does this disqualify me?

Unfortunately yes.

However, you still have over 11 hours to modify your entry if you wish... You can make this work. ;)

I think he asks the question because of the open cockpit. :)

I'm afraid I don't have time to change it now, my own fault for being so late to enter the contest.

I think you could be more liberal concerning what a "prisoner hold" could be, it's not like he can escape. :) However I'm not going to argue, so I'll accept the disqualification. I thought it was funny though. ;)

After long last, the build is complete...

First, thanks to everyone involved in the contest, it's been a lot of fun, and I think we've all won already having just had a two month long excuse to play with LEGOs ;) Good luck everyone!

Jagare
Image

Jagare is a Kyuzo bounty hunter born to a family of farmers. As a child, his family was taken as slaves for the Empire, and there he learned both to respect great power and to fend for himself. When he was 15, he escaped, and used the skills he'd learned in captivity to become a feared and respected bounty hunter.

Gungnir
Image
IMG_9200 by odinson1313, on Flickr
Jagare's ship, Gungnir, is of unknown design, and is rumored to have been designed by Jagare himself. Knowing a bounty hunter is after you is reason enough to fear, but seeing Gungnir's cannons bearing down on you is enough for many to surrender without a fight. The ship separates into a smaller more nimble fighter and the larger more heavily armed body, which Jagare can pilot remotely, allowing him to flank and outmaneuver his prey even as a lone bounty hunter.

Prisoner Compartment
Image
IMG_9206 by odinson1313, on Flickr
Having captured the elusive Lando Calrissian already, Jagare still has one more cell to fill... The prisoner compartment lowers from the rear of the ship, from within a completely isolated compartment inside.

Be sure to check out more detailed pictures to see the separated ship, the mechanism for lowering the prisoner compartment and the second bounty that Jagare risked his life to capture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/31622764@N03/

Don't get me wrong, I think it's funny too. It just doesn't clear the rules.

I think it's easy to say "Forget the rules! This guy seems alright!"

However, I also think that if you start ignoring rules for some people, it quickly gets out of hand. Remember that, guys ;D

Well I had to change my entry for having an illegal parakeet. And that is fine with me! Rules exist for a reason or else it would be chaos! CHAOS!!!!

BTW, of all the entries posted only one remains at risk of being disqualified on a technicality. I just sent off a third PM so I hope they decide to update by midnight.

On the subject of rules and such, there is one entry that's bugging me, mainly it's use of pieces I can't identify as Lego. It may or may not be the same entry you're referring to Solo, but I wasn't sure if it broke the "No unofficial elements" rule. Of course, I could be wrong and just haven't been able to locate references to the pieces on Bricklink or Peeron.

Wait, so the bird wasn't the bounty hunter?

I was kind of hoping that parrot was part of the bounty hunter. No such luck.

HEre is my late entry. It took me some time to find a nice concept for this build.

This is the Sarracenia , a medium sized forward attack fighter.

It is piloted by the bounty huntress Adjenka Ventura

She keep her prisonner in a portable containment module. She doesnt care if the prisonner yell at first, she knows how to keep them quiet.

The spaceship can transform between three different modes.
Beside from the flying mode, there is a vertical landing mode http://www.flickr.com/photos/30451474@N05/6297260970/.
Then a ground walking mode http://www.flickr.com/photos/30451474@N05/6296730021/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/30451474@N05/6297260084/.

Thanks for this contest, it as very impressive entries and it pushed me to try new things.

thanks FBTB for another great contest. Some amazing entries already, Good luck to everyone.

Right here goes, my humble entry.

Introducing Felix.
Felix was formerly a Pilot of unique (and often super natural) ability; rumours suggest he killed a Jedi which resulted in the super reflexes that, in hindsight, earned him more recognition then he would have liked.

This unique ability to pilot spacefighters drew the attention of many crimelords and cartels which eventually led him to join the under world consortium and crime syndicate known as the Zann Consortium; led by the notourious (and shamed Imperial Academy Cadet) Tyber Zann.

Soon after the Battle of Yavin, Felix was put in charge of a specialist group of pilots which conducted all the Narcotic runs to and from the other cartels. He and his team purpose built Space-Runners with secret holds to move the narcotics and their payments around.

Unfortunately Felix was ambushed on a return run to Tyber's HQ and was captured and then tortured.

Felix had been tortured for the whereabouts of the Zann consortium HQ - his kidnappers had removed his leg at the knee and one of his arms at the shoulder in the hope it would force him into giving them what they wanted.

Felix used some of the vast funds he had saved to purchase psycho conditioning treatments and training to enhance his fighting ability to match his piloting. Turning his attention to his Starfighter which he named Grudge Bearer.

He converted the "narcotics" hold into an area which could hold his bounty, he also added a more powerful hyperdrive, a cloaking device, a cloaking jammer and two double rapid firing laser canons to each wing. Felix also added an experimental Combat/Runner shield which adapts to the situation

The "Bespin Sunset" belongs to a class of light freighters built to transport tibana gas. And she had a long career at it. But Confederate tactical droids decided that they needed a means to disrupt tibana gas production inside the Republic. And she was torn down and rebuilt as a ship for war. They correctly concluded that the main tibana tank of the Sunset was large and armored enough to conceil an artillary lazer. They gave her port and starborard batteries of anti-ship missles to destroy any fighter craft that her upgraded engines could not out run. The idea was that the Sunset would approach tibana processing stations well inside Republic controled space, while posing as a humble tanker vessel. And then destroy them with a cant miss shot from point blank range. She would then use her missles to defend herself as she power climbed out of the planetary gravity well and fled into hyperspace. They chose the privateer Captain Suva and his pilot Xi' Pob to crew the ship. And the plan was working well. But Captain Suva hadn't counted on his pilot being old friends with the bounty hunter Gnan Ruta.

Image
sunset_starboard_quarter by asops turtle, on Flickr

The plan for mutiny was made as soon as republic handlers accepted Ruta's terms that the Republic would accept the artillary laser and captain Suva as being sufficient. Gnan Ruta and pilot Xi' Pob would keep the Sunset as their bounty. And the next time the Sunset went to port, Gnan Ruta was waiting for Captain Suva.

And Suva certainly didn't expect to find himself wedged in an equipment locker.
