Pictures of the Lego Star Wars 2012 sets

The reason FBTB came to be. We don't forget our roots.

I noticed that the planet sets were labeled "Series 1" so we may be in for a lot of them. I do like the return of the general release minis rather than the seasonal Target ones that sell out months before the holiday they were intended for. They do look like nice ornaments and if they have a Jan release date, they should be at TRU before Christmas and at MSRP for a few days before the markup kicks in (never understood that).

Wow, No idea how I missed that one. On the same page, even. At least I know now that I am not alone in that thought...

Wow, have the battle packs really gone up to $13, or is that just B&N markup?

Not really. If you think about it, most minis are about $4-5 these days and if you use $3 for the collectible minifigs as a baseline, throw in the weird planet thingy and a little markup because it is Star Wars, then $10 isn't too bad. I wouldn't be surprised if it were closer to $15 though.

If you say so. Applying the collectible minifig pricing to minifigs included in a set seems a bit much to me. I was hoping these would be more like $7-8. Probably won't buy them if I can't get them for that. (I expect I WILL be able to find them for that price, though.)

That is a good point - it isn't like those figs in the planet set are necessarily "collectible" as you can get them in other sets. I think they do get the good ole' Star Wars markup though. It is a decent way to get them without paying out the nose for their original sets though.

I guess I am just happy to see things in the Star Wars line other than battle packs that are under $15.

I love the idea of the mini planet sets, but like most am concerned about the price. Yes, I spend a crud-load of money on LEGO every year...but the prices usually seem fair for most sets. Even then most of us wait until there's a decent sale/promotion going on to bite the bullet on the larger sets. So to the point here, when I walk into a Target/TRU/Walmart/etc. I can easily find a 3-7 dollar toy for my daughter (Pet shop thingys, ponies, lalaloopsy, whatever). Then it comes to my son (yes, and me) where we see the lowest priced lego set is a either a small 4 dollar bag that has a guy riding a 4-wheeler or a half-done helicopter. When it comes to any SW sets, there are none. So we end up picking up a 5-7 dollar HASBRO SW action figure INSTEAD of buying Lego. You would think that LEGO would realize the price gap and fill that with smaller mini sets like they used to have (LIKE THESE NEW PLANET THINGS). I will definitely think twice about buying a mini-set for $10 whether or not it comes with a minifigure. I can only hope that TRU will have a buy 2 get one free sale after they come out.

Thanks to all the unsung heroes who manage to dig up the pictures!

We can't for all the new sets and Mini figures. Looks like there will be a new astromech head brick , also some new clone troopers including a very unique ARC helmet for one of them. There was a new endor Trooper, and Winged geonosians to keep everyone intrigued. Im looking forward to the new looking commando droids as well as a new rebel pilot helmet on the rebel pilots. and there's so much more!!! WooHoo!

The pictures were removed at LEGO's request. But they may still be somewhere http://www.hothbricks.com/category/nouveautes-2012/
