I've really got my heart set on one of these and for several reasons wish I'd built it myself...but goodluck all.

It was definitely a struggle for me to whittle it down to 4 from my top 7 choices. Got a lot of great ideas just from checking out all the entries. Great contest, FBTB. On to the next one...

Though my favorite didn't win (Ewoks Revenge) this was an awesome contest. Cant wait till the next. Congrats to our winner and to everyone else and a great job.

wow, this contest was completely awesome! I must have misread some of the rules somewhere, b/c I thought I saw something that outlawed the use of non-starfighters (eg light freighters like Firespray class and YT1300 Corellian) and speeders. But congrats to Sydag, you really did deserve to win, that is the most awesome build of a firespray i've seen ever!

I don't know if I've ever had such a hard time deciding who to vote for! Lots of incredible entries, and lots of techniques used that I never would have thought of.

Congrats to Sydag on the win! I don't think I've seen anyone achieve such accuracy in the curvature of the Firespray's body.

Clarifications from page 1: All Star Wars vehicles that have been made by Lego (walkers, speeders, starships, etc - no playsets), from any faction (Republic, CIS, Rebels, Empire, etc - mix and match at will), are allowed as inspiration for your mashup (pick only two though) - but the end result must be a starfighter.

Though in one case a ship where the end result wasn't a starfighter did slip through, it looks like.

Pretty sure he has this one in mind because of the open cockpit being an odd choice for a starfighter... but the contest rules didn't require an enclosed cockpit, and I can easily think of several Star Wars friendly explanations to dismiss that concern.

Yes, thank you, I read the rules several times and although it was called a HybridFighter Contest, the rules said that the result should be a vehicle, not a starfighter.

I had fun building it, anyway, and I got significantly more votes than last time I entered a contest here (Separatist's Shuttle Alternate Model).

Wow. Confusion still. I explicitly wrote in the clarifications post that "the end result must be a starfighter." Regardless, your entry counted as one whether you thought it did or not.
