New button style

Postby onions » Fri Mar 06, 2009 1:51 am

I uploaded a new button style for new topics. Like it or hate it? Still seems a little off on the hover action, but you get the general idea of what i'm trying to do.

Might have to change the color of the text on the button, looks a little to bright.

In my opinion, it's pretty slick...much better than the other one.

The contrast between the inner text and backtground image needs to be greater. The text sort of blurs into the background, requiring extra focus to read.
If the above post didn't offend you, you're probably reading it wrong.

New button is nice, although is there any room for a space? Or even "PostReply"?

It seems a bit out of place in the rest of the forum. If there was more stuff in the same style then it'd be a lot more bearable.

unfortunately, no room for a space. i tried camel case for the words but it looked too weird for the font i was using and I really wanted to stick with the font. postREPLY was almost used but in the end i stuck with POSTREPLY. i suppose i could make the buttons wider to accommodate. that might make the spacing a little more consistent. i'll give it a try later tonight.

Will just REPLY work? It will leave a lot more room.

We're talking about the NEW_TOPIC* and POST_REPLY buttons, yeah? It sounds like there were some previous versions to what's there now, but I think the current ones looks great. They match the board's colors and style, match the main banner, the font pairs nicely with the main navigation, they're prominent enough to be easy to find when you want to post (but not obnoxiously so), and they go nicely with the Edit and Quote buttons.
