Nice ugly BadgerBoy! I rarely get inspired in the ugly contests. But well done. I have to say I do like yours.
Yea, though I walk through the valley...

Can we include our hand in one of the photos. For example, my model, in flight mode, has to be held up, unless I build a huge stand.

One more question. Can it look like one of the ships? Like, take the Solar Sailor and X-Wing. Can we combine the two, and use the Solar Sailor's wings to take the place of the X-Wing's, while still using the Solar Sailor's colors? Or does it have to look like a completely new ship?

So long as it's Solar Sailor wings on the X-wing and not regular X-wing wings that are colored like the Solar Sailor... go for it.

Aha, I see what you had in mind, not the actual wings/sails from the Solar Sailor set in place of other wings, but panels from the ship's body used as wings on the Infiltrator. Clever!

Quick question, the rules say "no modified parts or stickers", does this mean "no modified parts and no modified stickers"?

As far as I know, you can use unmodified stickers from the Official LEGO sets.

Soaring into FBTB's Hybridfighter Contest... it's the Dangerous Creature!

The Rebels don't have much of an income for fighters (or anything, for that matter), so they have to use whatever they can get their hands on. At times, it's cobbled-together mish-mashed ships like this one. In this case, a B-wing and Y-Wing were put together to form one fearsome ship. Though some complain even less attractive than the Millenium Falcon, this 'ugly' fighter holds together surprisingly well and packs quite a wallop.

And in attack mode (with my arm in the picture)...

Please check out more pics on my photostream... it gives a better all-around feel of what this fighter's made of and better illustrates all the time that went into designing this. Thanks FBTB for getting my creative juices flowing and letting me enter this contest!

I was somewhat limited in the design of the ship, as my small collection only allowed my to use parts from 7140 X-Wing Fighter, 8099 Midi-Scale Imperial Star Destroyer, 8036 Separatist Shuttle, and 7748 Corporate Alliance Tank Droid. But I am satisfied with how it came out.

Not sure if it's ugly enough, but here's my entry:

So if you thought that buzz droids were only good for taking things apart, you'd be wrong.
And why would a buzz droid wanna build a starfighter you ask?
To go kill jawas, duh.

Good job with such a limited palette.

The Evisceraptor, straight from a scrap heap on Ord Mantell and cobbled together from the remnants of an YT-1300 freighter and an X-wing, this starfighter is ready to join the fight of whomever's pocket is deepest.

Very nice. Good concept. I especially like the detail on the solar panels.

My entrant: The Stingray
(click on the image for more views)
Image

"After the death of Padmé Amidala, and during the chaotic years of the Empire, one of the former handmaiden of Naboo became distraught with grief. Seeking vengeance, she became the bounty hunter known as "The Handmaiden", and also known for continuing to wear the face paint of the royal house...

Image

Her ship was known as the "StingRay" based in its apperance. Due to fuel shortages (as well as prior engine damage), she modified a Naboo N-1 starfighter into a "hybrid" starfighter by adding the solar-arrays and Twin Ion Engines from the ubiquitous imperial TIE fighter. She also painted over most of the Naboo yellow with black and blood red paint"

The Harbinger

Image
The Harbinger - a Hybrid fighter by kevinmboots77, on Flickr

The Harbinger is the end product of putting together a crashed Delta-7 Aethersprite and a TIE Intercepter. Put together with care by an AWOL Clone Pilot named Yeager on Thanta Zilbra. He uses the Harbinger in his job as a Mercenary.

this is my V-ulture Wing Ugly. the R-series droid was damaged beyond repair so the Vulture's head was hardwired into the navicomp of the V-wing. The Droid's wings were added for landing gear, and the lasers were reworked to the nose. Image
