FBTB Charity Drive 2010

I'm launching a little later than I would have liked, but no matter, I am good to go to announce the 2nd Annual FBTB Charity Drive 2010!

The charity drive benefits Child's Play Charity. In case you don't know, Child's Play Charity is a non-profit charity dedicated to improving the lives of hospitalized children during the holidays by providing gifts consisting of video games, toys and movies. They've been doing it since 2003, and now donate gifts to children's hospitals across the U.S. and all over the world including Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom. For more information about their cause, please visit their website at http://www.childsplaycharity.org/.

This is where you come in. Like last year, I'll be holding raffle for two awesome prize packages. And here's how it works:

  • Donate $2.00 USD by using the handy donate button at the bottom of this page.

  • Each donation will send me an email notifying me of your contribution. That email I receive is essentially your raffle ticket and each ticket is good for two chances to win. There's nothing more you have to do.

  • If, say, you wanted to donate $10 USD, you'll have to donate 5 times. There's no way to donate one lump sum. That's the bad news. The good news is that with each $2.00 USD donation, you're given another raffle ticket.

  • The last chance to donate is 11:59pm December 24, 2010 Pacific Time. The winners will be announced the next day on December 25, 2010. Prizes will be delivered sometime in January 2011.

  • At the end of the drive, I'll be selecting two winners at random from the pool of donations. Your odds of winning are determined by the total number of donations.

  • 100% of your donations go towards the charity. Unfortunately, Paypal takes their administrative cut, but beyond that, no other costs will be taken out of the drive funds. FBTB will foot the bill for prizes and prize delivery.

The Prizes? Everyone is entered into a drawing for two prize packages. This year's top prize consists of the following:

10212_box_global_front

  • 1 copy of 10212 Imperial Shuttle

  • 1 White Boba Fett

  • 1 Chrome C-3PO

  • 1 Chrome Darth Vader

  • 1 Chrome Stormtrooper

  • 1 Target-exclusive Bullseye Promotional set

  • 1 complete set of Series 1 Collectible Minifigs

  • ... and more!

And if you're not lucky enough to win that, then you have a second chance to win the following:

10198_box_na_front

  • 1 copy of 10198 Tantive IV

  • 1 White Boba Fett

  • 1 Chrome C-3PO

  • 1 Chrome Darth Vader

  • 1 Chrome Stormtrooper

  • 1 Target-exclusive Bullseye Promotional set

  • 1 complete set of Series 2 Collectible Minifigs

  • ... and more!

And if you're not lucky enough to win that either, you still have a third chance to win the following:

  • 1 copy of 8097 Slave I

  • 1 White Boba Fett

  • 1 Chrome C-3PO

  • 1 Chrome Darth Vader

  • 1 Chrome Stormtrooper

  • ... and more!

We here at FBTB do our best to bring you the latest sales news in order to save you money on our favorite hobby. Please consider giving back by donating $2.00 USD or more. It's not much, it all adds up, and you'll make the holidays very special to some very needy children all over the world. Plus you have two chances to win some epic prize packages. In 2009, we managed to raise just over $1100 for the drive. My one and only Christmas wish this year is to double that. And only you can help make that happen.

So without further ado, hit the donate button below to enter the raffle and donate some money!

Help the children!

Kudos to whoever managed to put all of these prizes together... I'm sure a lot of people will be donating to a good cause this festive season (whether they realise it or not!).
May the mass times acceleration be with you!

Great! I've clicked a few times. You might want to change the message stating that the winners will be revealed Dec 21 2009! :)

Thanks for the reminder - I completely forgot to do mine. Thanks for doing this and thanks for everything you do for the community!! Hopefully, we can make some kids' Christmas better thru this fundraiser :-). No child should have to go through a Christmas without...

I donated again. Good cause regardless if you win or not. What is our target goal and how much do we need to get there. Perhaps if you posted how much we have collected, it will motivate people to try and reach the goal.

Donated. (Y) :D

Gosh, paypal should speed up their transfer rate for those putting money directly from their bank account.

This is such a great charity and I'm glad I was able to give a little. It doesn't look like they are currently registered with the CFC, I'd love to redirect a portion of my pledges to them.

Maybe a summer drive or raffle would be good next year as well. I don't know about everyone else but while I do feel especially giving this time of year, it's not always the easiest time to give with all the extra traveling expenses due to the holidays.

Just a thought.
