With all the orders for the minifigures I would find it hard to believe they didn't have someone opening boxes and dumping them in a pile that many order sorters were pulling from, but regardless I don't think that "replacement" is the problem, seeing as there's more of some figures than others anyway, which already reduces the likelihood of getting a "fair" distribution.

Went to target today. They had some Halloween items out, but only some items here and there throughout the store. Didn't have any destinated aisle for Halloween items, so could not find any series 2 minifigs. Where are Halloween aisle located in the store.

The primary Halloween section will vary by store, but by my experience the seasonal section is located toward the back. Currently, my closest Target has three solid rows of bagged candy and nothing else. I suspect if your store doesn't already have a Halloween section yet, they will next week.

They are generally in the back corner of the building where they put seasonal items. I assume they are all similar, but for mine it's in the spot where are the "Back to School" stuff just was. There is one store by me that has the Halloween stuff when you first walk in, but that's the only one around me like that. You can see the section from a distance because they have a big "Candy" sign hanging over the section.

On another note, after checking a local Target (most of mine still haven't put out any minifigures yet) I checked the neighboring TRU. They had 2 fairly full boxes of Series 2 out and an untouched box of Series 1. It has since been touched, but I was very surprised to see it sitting there. I have been to this store many times before so there is no way it has just been sitting around for the past 2 months. I guess it was most likely sitting around in the back somewhere. I didn't take a picture, but I'll gladly scan the receipt if anyone doubts my tale!

That wouldn't surprise me at all. One of my local TRU recently restocked all the Pirate sets including Brickbeards ship that they haven't had on the shelf in almost a year.

Occasionally I'll see a long discontinued random Creator, City, or Mars Mission set pop up on the shelves there.

They must have a black hole in the storeroom that randomly spits out old sets

More likely, what happens is that the pick tickets for all orders that consist of nothing but minifigs are put into a separate pile and those go to however many people are needed to fill that quantity of orders in the work day. Then, each person would set up a mini-station that has an amount of stock, their pile of orders, their boxes or envelopes for shipping, and their tape, and they just fill orders all day long. They pull out of the box, and when that box is done, they go to the next one. It's much more efficient to do it that way than to have multiple employees trying to pull stock from the same location.

Actually, the lack of replacement should INCREASE the chance of a better selection of figs. I just don't know how much. To take some extreme examples, if you are drawing two stones from an infinite supply that is evenly divided between black and white, your chances of getting both colors is 50%. If you are drawing from a supply of 4 stones, 2 black and 2 white, your chances of getting both colors if you draw 2 is now 66%.

If there is uneven distribution, say 1/4 black and 3/4 white, when you draw from an infinite supply your chance of getting one of each is 37.5%, but when you draw from a group of only 4, that chance rises to 50%.

So either way, drawing from a single box with a set distribution SHOULD increase your selection over drawing from a much larger pool, but I don't know how much. I do know, however, that having the figures in clumps in the box significantly increases your chance of getting multiples over a truly randomized assortment, unless they pull the figs randomly (which I doubt, as it is faster to simply grab a group from one part of the box), and therefore should DECREASE your selection of figs.

Well... what I was suggesting is that they don't just have a single box, that a number of people are pulling from the same boxes... and that the fact that there are more of some than others to begin with decreases the effect of "non-replacement."

I just don't think, given a large enough pool, that people getting as many as nine different figures in one draw is bad... it sounds just about right.

The distribution from LEGO is really sporadic and random. I don't live near a LEGO store, Target or Toys R Us so I ordered 3 different orders of 16 (all ordered the same day and all to different addresses). I've received two orders and here is what I got.

My first order was a split grouping. 8 of 16 figures.
Order 1
0 Skier
0 Karate Champs
1 Witches
1 Vampire
0 Surfers
0 Spartans
0 Mariachi Players
2 Lifeguards
0 Ringleaders
5 Pop Singers
0 Pharaohs
1 Motorcycle Cops
1 Weightlifters
3 Disco DJs
0 Explorer
2 Mimes

My 2nd order was a much better distribution. 12 of 16 figures.
Order 2
0 Skier
1 Karate Champs
1 Witches
1 Vampire
1 Surfers
1 Spartans
0 Mariachi Players
1 Lifeguards
0 Ringleaders
1 Pop Singers
0 Pharaohs
1 Motorcycle Cops
1 Weightlifters
2 Disco DJs
3 Explorer
2 Mimes

I'm still waiting for my 3rd order but it will probably be a week or two. It went to a distant relative.

Thought I would contribute to the statistical power of analysis.
My 16 came Wednesday night:
0 Skier
3 Karate Champs
1 Witches
1 Vampire
1 Surfers
0 Spartans
1 Mariachi Players
1 Lifeguards
1 Ringleaders
1 Pop Singers
2 Pharaohs
3 Motorcycle Cops
0 Weightlifters
0 Disco DJs
1 Explorer
0 Mimes

Was happy to get 11 of the 16. Funny though about the continued dearth of Spartans. That does seem odd given that one would otherwise assume that from LS@H the distribution would represent what comes out of a sealed box.

i visited my local target today and found a tag for the series 2 minifigures. They are located in the seasonal aisle most stores are transitioning from back to school to Halloween. Here is the dpci number so you can check on the store scanners or ask an employee. Hope this helps.

My S@H order came through. Here's my list. I'm going to add one more list in the next few days as my buddy is waiting on his 16 too.

0 Skier
2 Karate Champs
0 Witches
0 Vampire
2 Surfers
3 Spartans
0 Mariachi Players
4 Lifeguards
0 Ringleaders
0 Pop Singers
2 Pharaohs
1 Motorcycle Cops
0 Weightlifters
1 Disco DJs
0 Explorer
1 Mimes

So two things stand out...4 Lifeguards and 3 Spartans. I'm not complaining though even though I got 8 of 16 unique figs

Gooker,

feel free to send those extra Spartans with my stormtroopers ;)

I was just going to post too, that when a case has 3 complete sets, that people were getting multiples of alot of figures, but no one had reported more than 2 spartans per pack.

My order should be here monday, and Ill post my list.

BTW, the droid bardcode scanner made by andrewpym works wonderfully. Not only is it accurate, but he put sound effects with each figure.

My TRU had some in. with a limit of 2 per person :rolleye"

after I got home with them, I used the scanner

Vampire- has a "muwahahaha" with echo. And gives a synopsis of the character

Weightlifter- hear him huffing and puffing like he is working out, and hear weights clanging together

TRU makes some of the dumbest decisions of any major retailer. I know other areas had limits for Series 1, but in Southern CA we didn't have any limits at any of the numerous locations near me. Then when Series 2 first came out, still no limits. Now Targets have these readily available at $1.99 and I can grab how many ever I want, but now all the TRUs want to limit everyone to 3 or 5 depending on the store. Guess what TRU? At $2.99 I don't have much reason to want to purchase any from you. When you're the only game in town, it makes sense to charge a premium and enforce some limits. When I can go across the parking lot and buy whatever I want for less, those policies don't make any sense.

exactly. I was so irritated. Not because I was a grown man that couldnt buy a toy, but why would I waste gas just to be limited to spending $5.98 in their store?

My local TRU has no limits at the moment. I'm really surprised because they've had limits in the past such as on the Chrome Stormtrooper earlier this year. I'm patiently waiting for my Target to get some in. I have 2 kids that want sets of their own.

There is a great android application called minifig collector. It's got all of the upc pics, a scanner, figure pics, and even a way to keep track of how many figures you have or need. Check it out http://www.androidzoom.com/android_appl ... _ikfx.html
eBay store, contact me if you'd like to perform trades from my inventory. I'm looking for original genosian fighers, second version a-wing fighters and tie bombers. I may be interested in other sets so let me know what you have.

I prefer the one done by andrewpym on the droid. Not only is it up to date and accurate, but the sound effects of each character are hilarious, as well as a synopsis of each character

I don't have a droid, but I'd love to hear the effects. Can you preview the effects?
