That's the most appealing thing to me out of all of these sets. Always nice to get a new astromech. LEGO has been dishing those out pretty steadily, thankfully.

It appears to be a 1x1 cone with a 1x1 round brick coming out of it. The round brick either has some optical sensors printed on it or a sticker.

WE GET QUINLAN VOS!!! HELLZ YEAH!!!

\o/

Though that does look to be a mightily expensive set. Although, having said that, with the exception of the Bounty Hunter ship, I'm fairly interested in this line up. Battle packs look like fun, I have no Gungans, the new Imp pilot and Astro unit look great, and Shaak Ti just looks all kinds of awesome.
I must say though, Saesee Tiin's head mold looks just a tad too big.

That was one funny thing I realized while presenting the Star Wars display at Arte Em Peças event. Most kids recognized the CW stuff from the series, and the OT stuff from videogames like Battlefront or Lego Star Wars, while their parents recalled watching ESB in the cinema when they were young.

Yes, I looked at it again and you're right. When I first looked at it, seemed like one piece.

I like the clone wars sets, and it is refreshing to see almost all new figures. I agree with the obi-wan comment. I thought it was ridiculous how many sets Anakin and Ashoka were in, but from a marketing stand point it made sense. Children want the main characters. I am bummed about the lack of OT sets, especially considering the incredible quality of the sets now. But here is the thing, not only do we have to beg for OT sets, but we have to beg for original sets. It seems that a lot of the recent OT sets (Slave 1) have been remakes... But at this point I guess there is only so many "new sets" they could make. At least we finally got a wampa and Taun Taun.

Now as for the new sets, I love the new figs, and I'm not all that picky about ships, because 9 out of 10 times, they are much cooler once they are built and in your hands, so I will leave judgment until then. Never thought we would see the day that Quinlan Vos would be a lego fig...so that is incredible. Love the other jedi figs and Aurra Sing looks pretty good.

The black V-Wing pilot puzzles me though, since Hasbro did the exact same thing but we never saw these guys in the movie. Maybe in the show? Oh and I saw an earlier comment about the Grey V-wings. They did in fact appear in Ep.III, right at the end with the grey venators, where only scenes earlier they were the ones with the crimson stripe

Well this was a pleasant surprise-

Given that Imperial versions showing up in the show would likely mean the end or near-end of the show, I'm chalking it up to good ol' fashioned Lucasfilm marketing, though that makes a little more sense with the Hasbro toy (simple repaint of existing mold for new TRU exclusive item). Maybe this is just a way for Lucasfilm to cross-promote the concept.

If I recall correctly, the V-Wings were barely present in the movie. There were a couple of them flashing by in the opening battle which were Old Republic, and then there were the ones that escorted Palpy and Vader back home from Mustafar which were Imperial and which you saw more clearly, so it makes a bit of sense there. Plus aren't most of you complaining about too many prequel sets and not enough OT sets? Maybe they were just throwing you guys a bone with the OT colors.

Don't bet on that, R2Q2 is predominantly flat grey, so at best we'll get a pearl silver droid. Not that I'm complaining... just throwin some facts out there. Also, why a droid seen patrolling the halls of the Blockade Runner in ANH is flying with a V-Wing is beyond me, but whatevs.

While I sympathize with folks wanting more OT stuff, I understand that these things tend to be cyclical and LEGO and Lucasfilm are going to market what's most marketable. OT subject matter isn't going anywhere as long as LEGO maintains the SW license. Patience. That said, dressing up a known PT ship in colors that only existed in some intermediary/off-screen capacity is unlikely to do much of anything to assuage any LEGO OT fan nerd-rage. I'm not complaining, mind you, just making an observation.

After seeing these pictures and the prices I'm going to go ahead and say I'm very excited about this wave. For the $210 the entire wave costs I think it's going to be a great value considering all the new minifigs.

I can't wait to see some better images of the ships.

I was just looking at the pair of V-wings on my shelf the other night thinking I should do one in Imperial colors.

I think we know where the SWL line/fans is going now. It only seems to be about the minifig. Look at most of the discussion here (or on any board). Heck, even look at the pictures referenced. The photographer zeroed in on the minifigs and glossed over the ships. We want figs that were cool looking but barely appeared in the films. And who is Quinlan Vos?

The Jedi shuttle doesn't look that big or exciting for the rumored price, but oh look at the figs.

I think most of the good CW ships were released in 08 and 09, and now they're reaching.

Im a bit dissappointed with the images from 2011 so far....yer there are some nice figures, but where are the cool, interesting and challenging ships we have had previously :(

The Green thing....wtf is that, the only thing i can think of is the traders ship from the cartoon, but cant remember if that was this one or not....

That may be, but it's not like they're taking an N1 or MTT or Bongo and giving it an Imperial paint job, or even something only seen in the EU. They're taking a ship that was seen in the movie in Imperial colors and making the model have Imperial colors. They are perfectly right with either color scheme, I think they're just trying to appeal to OT fans as well with this.

It's called The Halo. It was in the episode "Bounty Hunters" of The Clone Wars.

Also from the Ep. 3 Cross-section book, the droids in the V-wings are supposed to be the ones that are just spheres with no bodies or legs (same as in the Jedi starfighters in Ep. 2). As you say, whatever, more tin can droids is always good.

Believe it or not, I do take some solace in the fact that it is actually from one of the movies (albeit, it can only be glimpsed for a second and the colors are more or less indiscernible, but it's pretty obvious that Step 1 in Imperial fashion revolution is "gray is the new dark red"). Thanks for linking to that clip.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I just watched the entire Battle of Coruscant from ROTS again and couldn't see a single V-Wing. So unless they're just flashing around in the background or show up in the background of another scene (leaving them to be even more "glimpsed for a second and the colors are more or less indiscernible"), I think the Old Republic color is entirely an EU or behind the scenes\concept art creation. I just hope they make the wing rotate forward in the landing position like they're supposed to, or at least put them on click hinges instead of the "I CAN'T MAKE THEM EVEN!" bar clips of the old one.

On a side note, gorram the Battle of Coruscant was epic! And the CGI Grievous, BD1s, and Magnaguards looked awesome. I hope they go back and redo the models they used in Eps I and II so they're not so stand-out-ish as CGI tended to look back then. (on an even more side note, I want to see the OT re-filmed to look this way with the script left unchanged but the battles made a little more.... awesome, if that's possible)

I believe the scene where they are ecsorting Palpatine and Vader back from Mustafar has the republic colors.

I thought I was going crazy... I remembered seeing it at one time but I can't find that scene anywhere. I don't own the dvd so I had to check YouTube, but one guy had the whole movie uploaded, so I don't know what to say. It wasn't in the deleted scenes either. If you can find it, I'd love to see it.

I wonder if the gray V-Wing is a tie in to the live action series that may or may not happen? I know they were at the end of ROTS, and then with the Old Republic colors when they bring Vader after the battle.

At first I had to agree with most...it all sounded like meh. But now, seeing these images changes everything. I truly hope the rumored prices hold up. The summer wave has left my wallet (and my wife's patience/tolerance) very thin. Is it me or do all the sets (minus v-wing) seem like they have more minifigs than usual? Not a complaint at all, just hoping they can keep prices down, quality up, and stay the course in the long run. On that note, does the Jedi T4 shuttle seem a bit small to fit four minifigs inside??? It's gonna be a tight fit, or Shaak Ti is gonna be sittin in Quinlan's lap.

Looks like I'll be breaking out the airbrush again to 'fix' the Jango/bounty hunters.
