Star Wars Celebration V Exclusive CubeDudes

Postby Mos_Eisley » Wed Jul 28, 2010 11:12 am

I hadn't seen any info. about the next set of CubeDudes so I had to search when another member asked me if I had seen them yet. The picture is small and I don't have time to mess around with the .pdf, but if you click on the link and scroll down almost to the bottom on the left you'll find the Bounty Hunter CubeDudes set which includes Boba Fett, Dengar, Bossk, IG-88 and 4-LOM (the description says Zuckuss, but I think it looks more like 4-LOM):

Sweet! Very cool set. Now I'm disappointed I didn't try to get the first series...

My thoughts exactly. I always thought the Cube Dudes were cool from a build standpoint, but nothing I ever considered buying. Cube Dude bounty hunters changed that!

Looks like 4-LOM to me too. Maybe it's a nod to the original action fig card error.

I feel the opposite way, I am bummed I shelled out 75 for a set that will now need a companion...that I will never get. Looks like bricklink will have my comic-con cubedude set for sale soon.

Why, someone can post those instructions and then BrickLink can be your source for the parts to build the OT Bounty Hunters and you'll have a complete set!

But part of the draw is the exclusive box, which is what I think he may be getting at.

StarWars.com has posted some better pics of the Celebration V Cube Dudes and an interesting interview with Angus MacLane on their website.

Definitely worth the click.

I still don't understand why we don't have a proper 4-LOM minifig for the main line, not to mention Zuckuss...

That's almost certainly 4-LOM—he's a GREY droid who also happens to have bug-eyes. Zuckuss is brown and has feelers.

But I definitely want me some IG-88.

Already spent too much time on a nice day trolling the web looking for SDCC Cube Dude instructions. It's like a thousand folks are asking about them but no one can find them. Does ANYONE out there have any leads on where I could find them posted somewhere?

I have been generally unimpressed with the cube dudes, but these are pretty nifty. I'd actually buy these and probably want to display them as well. Lego should consider actually marketing them rather than wasting them on exclusives.

That's too funny but I agree since the Slave 1 is almost in as many sets as the AT-ST. But on a serious note, they could put the whole bounty hunter issue to bed if they just did an Empire Strikes Back Executer Bridge set featuring all the bounty hunters.

Anyone going to CV feel like picking one of these up for me? :D

Seriously, the set looks just fantastic together, they look like great fun to make... I really want them.

Any guesses on what, if at all, the next set will look like?

Just got back from Day 1 of Star Wars Celebration V.

LEGO decided to go with first come first serve selling only 500 per day of the Bounty Hunter Cube Dudes set with no restriction on how many u could purchase.

I'm in luck today my cousin was nice enough to go pick up one of these for me. Now I have both sets, just gotta sit and wait for the mailman. But it would be a great idea if Lego would just start selling these next year.

I have reverse engineered IG-88 and 4-LOM! I will start working on the others later, anyone willing to post pics of the backs of these and maybe some shots of 4-LOM's head construction?

Once done I'll try to make usable building instructions to share.

Thanks, I have added Boba Fett and had to edit IG-88, Boushh, 4-LOM & Bossk...

IG-88's legs were 1 plate too short.
Boushh's torso was 3 plates to tall in relation to the rest of them.
4-LOM's head was 1 plate to tall.
Bossk's legs were 1 plate to tall.

I'll get Dengar done today, then this weekend I'll post images from all sides before working on the building instructions.

I wonder how many Bricklink orders this complete set of 7 Bounty Hunters will require?
