this is either a regional promotion or a case of false or mistaken advertising as i can find no proof in store, in their weekly flier or online of this deal.

Worked for me in store today(Virginia)! No advertising at all, this is the only place I heard of it. The price check scanner showed "LEGO Promo" and I had a checker verify before picking out the 16 sets I ended up getting.

Starwars and the new Board Games did not scan up with the promo. I did not check Toy Story or Indy.

Apparently it was not put in the computers and went out in an email. When I inquired about it today in Phoenix, they seemed to know what I was talking about and then proceeded to let me know there were no restrictions other than they had to be the bigger sets. I was able to get SW sets today at BOGOHO so I am a happy camper.

So are you saying that the BOGO sale also applies to online sales as well, or is this just an aside pointing out another (lesser) price break for online purchases? (Hmm - guess I could just head over there, put some in my cart and see for myself )

Either way, I would probably be all over this if TRU were to get the new train sets in stock this week. The only other non-SW sets I need are the late 2010 Technic and Creator and the former are not even out yet while the latter are out but don't really have good pairings among each other to take full advantage of the BOGO. Truthfully, if the late 2010 Technic and the Trains were both out now, I'd probably pick up the whole lot of those now along with the Creator too and save the hassle of waiting for the holiday BOGOs. Nothing like saving hundereds when pairing up all those big $100-plus sets.

Well, to follow up on my own post, it seems toysrus.com does have the new trains, but unfortunately this BOGO sale does not apply to the online shop (which is also confirmed by Brickset).

I wonder if there's any hope to see the trains in store this early, or if that won't happen til closer to the holidays? I think I might wait anyway though. I'll see better savings, I suspect, by pairing up the trains with Technic: 7939 with 8043 and 7938 with 8053.

I stopped by two stores in the St. Louis area. No signs anywhere, but using the price scanner shows "LEGO PROMO" for included items. I took 7641 City Corner and 5892 Sonic Boom to the register and they rang up for $96.88 after tax. (By an amazing coincidence, the same week that are having BOGO-50, they raised the price $3 on Sonic Boom up to $60.... )

Now if I can just resist the urge to also get get 6753 Highway Transport and 8996 Skopio XV-1. I really don't need to spend any more.

I actually went in today with my receipt for 112 packs of mini-figures that I bought last week and they reluctantly did a price adjustment for me, but they had to return and re-purchase all 112 packs for me by scanning the receipt 112 times and doing it individually. It maybe took 20 minutes but I saved 70.56 cutting the price to 1.87 a pack. Alot of the TRU's by me are overpriced and still have some older sets that no one bought like Mars Mission sets, and the Agents Mobile Command Center. I am going to try to get those tomorrow at BOGO50

@slisa51: you must live in a remote area to not have restrictions on those minifigs. Plus not having seen Mars Mission and Mobile Center since last year....not surprised your TRU allowed to you buy nearly the two boxes of minifigs.

I actually live in the least remote area in the country 1 mile outside of New York City, and I have 12 TRU stores within 10 miles of me. None of them seem to have restrictions on mini-figures as I bought alot more last night. If anyone lives in the area and wants some older sets, the TRU on exterior st in the bronx has lots of old sets including some Indiana Jones sets I have'nt seen in a while like Temple escape, Peril in Peru, and Shanghai Chase, all scanning at BOGO50. They also have most of the agents sets still except for the volcano base. They are more expensive then most TRU stores but with the deal its not too bad.

did you guys also find Farm #7637 for $70 with an additional 25% off? i wanted to get 2 for the BOGO 50% but they only had one so i ended up getting that and Space Police Central #5985

I actually did buy 2 farms and they came out to only $40.74 each after sales tax. Another great value set that is at TRU on clearance plus the BOGO50 is the Technic 8063 Tractor with Trailer for only $46.58 after tax. I also just received a TRU mailer that has a $10 of $100 purchase on the cover that can be used with the other 2 deals but it has to be done on Friday or Saturday because it starts july 2nd and the other deal ends july 3rd.

Do you know if they still have the Agents set 'Robo Attack'? I've unfortunately fallen in love with that set way too late and am on a wild hunt for it. I'm actually going to Long Island tonight and will probably be passing within a few clicks of that store.
