Has anyone purchase a LEGO set than regret it for buying it?

The reason FBTB came to be. We don't forget our roots.

the construction of 6211 was so shoddy it fell apart just by looking at it. i don't care if there's less play space as long as its built better. i would rather have a ship that stays together with less "features" than one with a ton of features that can't stay together.

I agree with you ace. I think the veantor is better even though it has lesser features than the ISD.

I think the Venerator was much better built and easier to handle, but the palyability and value of the ISD is better. I reinforced the bottom and the flip out tops and that helped greatly with the fragility.

I regret buying the Imperial Star Destroyer (the one that held figures ). It was fun for awile but it fell apart easily and was extremely fragile. I saw a picture of a new version of a swamp speeder set that comes out some time in 2010. In my opinion that looks like a set I would not regret buying.

Maybe its already been mentioned somewhere here, but that set (6211) had a service pack from TLG that remedied the flimsy bottom.
My most regretful purchase was the tie interceptor, paid 24.99 from target...about a month after they had it on the shelf for 7 bucks...

Please, do share. Most of us live by the "pics or it didn't happen" motto on this site. If there's a swamp speeder photo for 2010, that's something we have not heard about yet.

My bad. I just logged in and saw this. Had to comment. Guess I should've buzzed through first. :p

Thanks for that pic. This one looks pretty awesome.

We gave my 7 year old the Lego Star Destroyer last year and though he finished building it, it was a frustrating build (mostly because it was so delicate). The funny thing was we caught him talking to the set at one point:

"I love you so much, but I just don't think I'm ready for you...sob...sob...you're just to hard...sob sob." It was a priceless moment.

If I had one major complaint about Lego toys is that a lot of the builds are too flimsy and don't allow for good play afterward (for children). Good construction techniques go out the door in favor of fancy pieces. I almost think they need a separate lines; one caled the Lego "play along" line and one called the Lego "collectors" line.

When I first saw the Golden Girls LEGO racing track, I thought to myself "What can go wrong?"

I'll tell you what went wrong. Blanche not included! What good are the other hags without the old godzilla? It's just plain wrong. IT'S WRONG! WROOOOOOOOONG!

P.S.--The person that started this thread is obviously a spelling and grammatical champ. Kudos to you.

What's even more funny is that your "correction" is still incorrect.

"Has anyone purchased a LEGO set then regret buying it?" isn't right either. It SHOULD be, "Has anyone purchased a LEGO set, then regretted buying it?"

If you are going to take up space correcting grammar, at least get it right. ;)
