I've read parts 1-3 of the Visual Dictionary, and it is pretty impressive. Of course, I would have liked more pages and details, but it's a nice overview.

The downside is that now I've discovered or rediscovered quite a few sets that I'd like to buy that are no longer in print. Does anyone have some helpful hints about how to get sets on the secondary market without paying through the nose too often?

the only two places you might find them are ebay or bricklink. or, like draykov smugly said, being fortunate and finding thm at a garage sale, craisglist, or some other random occurrence.

I didn't know about Bricklink, so I thank you for that information. The prices actually aren't that bad for most items on my list. The most expensive ones tended to be about $0.20-$0.25/brick, while a lot were closer to $0.10-$0.15/brick. In actual dollars, it would cost me $2,000 for my 17 most wanted sets if I were to buy them all today, and I tend to favor the 500 piece+ sets. Sure, some of them come with no box, but I'm buying what's inside the box, not the packaging.

yeah don't mind our brashness. we sometimes forget that new people can and sometimes will make a post who are new to the hobby/site/forum. not everyone will know about bricklink/brickset/google and unfortunately, this applies to people who have been around the block as well. i know i get lazy and ask for information that i could easily google myself.

So Zachary's mother went online to the site for some chain of booksellers called Books-A-Million. She used the store lookup option to find the telephone number of the location nearest to them. She then called said store to reserve a copy of LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary. After that, Zachary's mother used the telephone to call Zachary's grandmother and asked the grandmother ever so kindly if she would please pick up the book from said location. Unbeknownst to Zachary's mother, Zachary was privvy to all of this information.

Here are the errors I found while browsing my book.

- According to the official Lego instructions the utility vehicle pictured on page 13 has an extra part on it the panel on the roof.

- On page 13 the swoop bike also has an extra trans clear piece on it, according to official instructions its not included in the set.

- On page 19 count dooku's speeder bike has a dark grey colored piece instead of the sand blue piece that its supposed to.

- page 31 the droidika is missing its trans clear piece on its underside.

- At one point the book states the Clone wars lasted 300 years , this is incorrect since they only lasted 3 lol

I guess the book with the minifigure isn't in stores anymore. Will they re-release it or come out with a new edition? It seems odd to me for a book like this to be sold in limited numbers, while other visual dictionaries are on shelves for much longer.
