Podracer Challenge Finalists: Display Your MOC @ SW Weekend

Star Wars Weekend is coming up on June 13 and 14 at LEGOLand, CA. With the help of Chieflug, Lugola, and Sandlug, we've come up with a theme for Star Wars MOC display and that theme is Tatooine. So, finalists of the 2009 Podracer Challenge, if you'd like to have your pod racer on display, we would love to have it!

I've already spoken to a few of you, and I'd like to hear from the rest of you if you're interested or not. I'm only opening this up to the finalists of the pod racer challenge for now. we do not know how much table space we'll be allotted, so best case scenario if all 15 finalists send their model in, we may not even be able to display all of them.

If you've dismantled your model, and would still like to display yours, you have plenty of time to put it back together. I would need the model at least 1 week before the actual date, so your deadline to ship me your MOC is June 1 (earlier if you're not in the u.s.).

I will most likely need to reassemble the model once I get your package, so please try and pack carefully.

I will ship it back to you in the same box you shipped it in to me the following week. I will ship Fedex Ground which includes $100 of insurance and a tracking number. If you require more, please let me know ahead of time. If you are not in the U.S., I will ship via USPS. Please let me know if you require insurance.

Please also include some extra bricks or stands to give your podracer the illusion of hovering. the sturdier the better.

One last note: we may attempt to try and run the pod racers on a track, so some slight modifications to your model may be necessary to achieve this. This is a bit of a long shot and may not actually happen, but it's something we are working on.

I'm interested, question, does the insurance come with fedex ground or is that special request?

fedex ground automatically insures up to $100. anything above that you need to pay extra for.

My pod racer's engines were pulled apart to return parts to offical sets, but pod itself is intact.

With no engines it can't be ran as podracer, but you can just display it as crashed podracer.

*edit* I managed to rebuild engines, and added good supports to boot. It's ready to be shipped now.
