I got another email with some more May 4th goodies. Right now, you can order 10179 Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon at a discount of 25% off, $374.99.

The email also states:

Plus, on May 3rd and 4th only, be entered in a chance to win a first-edition Ultimate Collector’s Millennium Falcon™

But there's no other information as to how. This may be a LEGO retail brand store effort. The first-edition UCS Falcon came with a special first-run certificate that was only available during the first production run of the set.

the first edition falcons came with a numbered certificate. the last time they did a numbered run on anything, they pulled #'s 1-10. I"m guessing they did the same with the falcon and are offering numbers 5-7 as prizes.

This really sucks for the offer. No wonder those LEGO reps offer a 25% discount after they realize the error. It was gonna go on sale anyways so nothing too special for us Canadian folks.

I thought they were still including the "Limited Edition" certificates to this very day! It seems like I remember reading somewhere that people were finding them numbered in the 10,000's. That is hardly what I'd qualify as limited. Getting one of the #'s 5-7 would definitely be cool though.

My order has been placed. Did anyone else notice on the email that it states the posters are individually numbered? Hopefully I get #23, 94, 421, 1138, 1977, 1980, 1983, or 10179.

I finally built my Grievous... a lot of people complained about stability, but for a shelf model it's really quite good, I'm really impressed and happy with the finished model. Didn't get it for as cheap as you, though, I got it when it first went on sale for $45, I think it was. Now it's $30? Great deal.

Edit: I suppose I'll keep this on topic; I ordered a lot of non-Star Wars stuff, but I also got a couple of the magnet sets just for some guys it seems like I'll never get otherwise.

Had my mom order another five sets of the Clone Walker Battle pack, since it's limit 5; now seemed like a good time for an extra poster (and extra chance to win, I guess), even though I'm not particularly enamored with the poster.

I think the May 3-4 Anniversary sale pushed the Grievous set to finally be SOLD OUT on legoshop.com. If anyone bought it orignally at 89.99, they'd be kicking themselves. I just bought $29.99 sale to get my poster and will be sure Grievous will retain its value after being discontinued two years from now.

With very few exceptions, I never pay full price for sets that expensive.... 50% off seemed like a great deal until it became 66% off!
