Vintage Minifig Collection Vol. 2 (Far Out Space Nuts)

Though we don't cover them in detail on FBTB, we all still love our Castle, Pirates, and Space LEGO too.

Vintage Minifig Collection Vol. 2 (Far Out Space Nuts)

Postby Draykov » Wed Feb 11, 2009 7:22 pm

Saw this puppy over at Eurobricks...really shouldn't buy it at the inevitable $19.99 (Vol. I got reduced to $17.99 on Shop@Home, by the way), but with two Classic Space dudes, it's gonna be hard to resist picking up one or two.

I've got the first one, I want this one too! Some great figs, I'm loving the red ninja and the spacemen.

Sweet, my birth year gets the classy black spaceman! I think minifig sets like this are a bit too pricey still.

I'm seriously thinking about buying this one myself. I missed out on Classic Space by just a little bit, plus I really want some old figs so I can make some decals.

As I said over at FC:

Hooray! :D I've got the first one too...

My only complaint for TLC is the old Space helmets, but as I managed to get a few in a Car Boot sale once, I don't really mind... ;)

I'd say the Space helmets are my only problem here. And the price.

Wait, hold on...is that a Ninja?!

That's swayed it for me.

Had to change my underwear when I saw this thread.

I was wondering if there was going to be another volume of Vintage Minifigure Collection. I was able to get Vol. 1 at LEGOland last August. That was one of those sets that I swore not to open… and that only lasted about 24 hours. I was worried there would only be one volume. In the January 2009 they dropped the “Vol.1” bit.

I’m really excited for this one now. The $20.00 price is no bother on these gems. This will be my very first black spacemen, pirate and ninja. Usually, these guys end up being minifigs that I fill airplanes and trains with or they are made to be “extras” in my LEGO Town. The Ninja will look great in first class on my Passenger Plane along with Darth Vader and Santa Claus. I put the spacemen on the train, not with my Classic Space sets. It’s because of those helmets. :|

When are these coming out?

Not sure...but I'd be surprised to see it before August '09. I too am quite happy to see that Vol. I was financially viable enough to bring about a Vol. 2. I don't balk at the $20 price tag for one, but it keeps me from buying multiples, which is what I really want to do when you include anything Classic-Space. Personally, I understand why LEGO didn't include the original helmets and I actually prefer the slightly newer variant. The old ones weren't exactly conducive to breathing in space, if you follow me. :)

Actually, the funny thing is I just realized (exactly like the Vol. 1 set) I have the originals for the first two figs.

Huh! I have one of the original little white space guys that's in this set -- always wondered where he came from. I better take him away from the kids now that I know how old and venerable he is.

Yeah. My yellow one are old enough to drink beer for a decade so far. Mines in perfect condition.

But then they're easy to get at bricklink. Few bucks each.

If anyone buys those but doesn't want classic space minifigs (who doesn't??) I am willing to buy em off you. :D

I want some for my mirror classic space, but I don't want to touch classic space minifigs.
