Well, it looks like I know what my son will be getting for his 5th birthday this spring. I'm actually glad these are coming out. He's been looking at the Duplo sets, but he's getting a bit old for them. These sets will be great!

Geez... Now I'll have to start saving, because my son will absolutely want all of the system sets (because although I got him the Duplo sets that already came out, he too is getting a little old for these).

He's a big fan of Cars and couldn't get enough of the small trailer FBTB.net posted a short while ago...

At least they broke the stickers up so they don't cover multiple panels. I can't understand why any LEGO designer would ever think covering multiple pieces with one sticker was anything other than a completely horrible idea.

On another note, that list in the first post included:

Set # 8201 – CARS Classic Mater 1.5.2011

...which seemed to imply a date of 1.5.2011 for this set. Obviously that didn't happen. What was that all about, do you think?

Aaaah! Considering the source, that should have been obvious. (Not to mention making a lot more sense in terms of timing.) Sorry.

Toy Story sets actually had printed pieces which I assumed was mandated in the licensing agreement. Why else would Lego bother?

There is a chance some of these will end up being printed. I'd actually be surprised if at least the eyes weren't printed in the final versions.

I've been wrong before.

This is second-hand, but I heard that Eurobricks member Huw reported that the Cars sets were at least mainly printed.
