LEGO Prince of Persia Hi-Res Box Art, Release Date, Preorder Now

Update 2:00pm 1/14: Amazon has 404'd the set pages and nuked them from their search index. Only time will tell if they LEGO's legal beagles contact flickr to have them remove the images from FBTB's flickr account. Of course, they could just ask me and I would comply. Anyways, with all the squelching regarding the Disney licensed set images being found and shared early, it does not bode well for Toy Fair.

Despite the spelling failures, Amazon has the new Prince of Persia sets up on their site available for preorder. Release date is set for April 1. If, for whatever reason, Toys'R'Us manages to get the sets onto their site or retail locations, I urge you to wait as TRU markup is getting astronomical.

Outside of the first two sets, the prices don't seem too bad at all.

I love those ostriches, and I noticed a new style whip in addition to the other goodies. These look fun.

These sets are really cool, cool pieces and minifigs ands stuff
Although I won't buy them because I never played the videogame and I don't want to see the movie, there is one awesome thing. The prices! Maybe this will reflect on the later LEGO Star Wars sets coming out this year, as both are movie-sets etc.

They did the same thing with the Atlantis sets, after they'd been listed for a couple of weeks.


Regardless, I like the look of the sets, if only for the earth-tone pieces. From some of the very early pics, I was hoping for a lot of dark orange, but I'm guessing that we're going to be getting dark flesh pieces instead. Given LEGO's recent stance on colors and part re-use, I'll be curious to see what other themes (if any) the newish color gets used in.
