IGN Reveals DC Comics LEGO Variant Covers - Updated

DC has come up with the excellent idea to release LEGO variant comic hero and villain covers this November to help promote LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham. Totally on their own... brand new idea, no foolin'. The above Joker will adorn the cover of Batman #36 and the below is the cover of Catwoman #36. IGN broke the news with these two exclusives, but I'm sure the rest will roll out steadily as DC has been pumping out variants like crazy all year. These covers are based on the Zero Issue covers from a while back and are pretty sweet.

USA Today released this list of cover variants to look forward to chasing:

Batman/Superman No. 16
Catwoman No. 36
Detective Comics No. 36

Harley Quinn No. 12

They also had this image of what I presume are Aquaman #36 & Justice League #36.

these look awesome. if i was more into dc, i'd want to get them all and make a nice wall display. having all of the covers composed the same ties it all together pretty nicely.

I much prefer the Marvel ones. These seem a little more boring - generic background on all of them, mostly showing characters/costumes we've already seen. Marvel covers were cool that they were based on actual covers, and a lot of them had new figure designs, some of which didn't even make it into the game (Black Widow among others). I'll probably pick up Braniac and maybe a few others.
And not even a Batman 66' cover?
Also, who wants to fill me in on the Frankenstein looking guy?
Thought you'd like this about the Vatican cameos.

My first guess is Solomon Grundy, but I could be mistaken

I think it is...Frankenstein.

He's part of Justice League Dark at the moment, I believe.

So sad.
Being a DC guy, I'v been waiting for DC to figure this one out, but why does the execution have to be so poor? Sadder still is I'll still be making sure to get one of each.

Frankenstein, OK. Fairly obscure character. I see they just needed a character for the Justice League Dark cover.
EDIT: Seriously, Deadman and Zatanna are in this team but they didn't make it on the cover? They are much more well known, and I might have bought a Deadman cover if he was there.

Yup I agree the Marvel and IDW Lego covers have been great. These aren't so impressive but I will still buy most of them.
