I thought Liam Neeson was "fine" in Ep 1.
I thought Ewan Mcgregor did a great job of portraying Obi-Wan like a young Alex Guiness in Ep 1. Not in Ep 2 & 3 however. I'm not sure what happened... due to the writing, directing, what, but Obi-Wan's portrayal in the last two movies was not really that good at all.
I thought Sam Jackson was terrible, in all three. I like the actor, don't get me wrong. But his "acting", his line delivery, was so wooden in the PT. I blame Lucas (with his director hat on) mostly for that.
And then, there's Hayden, who I see you conveniently left out of your argument...
