While building the other day, I threw my TV/VCR combo on the table and decided to break out my old SW trilogy VHS tapes. For contex, the tapes that I have are the 1996-ish reissue of the trilogy with the black sleeves and large pictures of Vader, Stormtrooper and Yoda respectively, and NOT the Special Edition.
Upon coming to the end of ROTJ and the celebration, I noticed something odd (or think I did) and I thought I would poll an opinion about it. As the final scene winds down and we see everyone (Lando) dancing and having a good time, there seems to be a chuckle RIGHT before the screen turns to credits. The chuckle that I heard seemed eerily like that of the Emperor, which made me wonder: did Lucas add it in as a sort of sequel-hint, but then go a different direction with the prequels? Was it an intentional addition, or simply some other noise that sounds like the Emperors laugh?
If you happen to have the tapes (and means to watch them), let me know what you think. I'm not try to start a conspiracy or anything! I'd just like a confirmation that I heard what I think I heard.
