LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary

With regard to thew 'new look Luke', it seems that Lego have made a conscious decision to give all the new minifigures cartoony eyes.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but the 2010 Battle Packs have white dotted eyes, the new luke's landspeeder has white dotted eyes on Ben and Luke, and all these boxes are white 'clone trooper' design boxes.

The only recent set without dotted eyes is Battle of Endor (but then, that comes in a classic star wars box).

Plus, looking forward to the as yet unreleased 2010 sets, Boba Fett has been given a horribly non-lego looking white-dot eyes cartoony face too. So it looks like we may have a 'weird and scary' phase to suffer through. Somebody tell Lego, stay true to your roots! Bring back the dots. We want Lego! Lego people with (mostly) Lego faces!

There is a saying, 'less is more', which i think Lego should heed when it comes to tinkering with a classic.

What's funny is neither look anything Like Luke. The hair is ridiculous too. The original hair from the 99' Landspeeder was the closest. I'm still waiting for them to give him a tan Prince of Persia hairpiece.
