The reason FBTB came to be. We don't forget our roots.

So far, so good! No problems with flights, security, etc. We're leaving the hotel shortly to see Hasbro's presentation!

As a born and raised lifelong Southern Californian, I DO NOT LIKE the temperature here :(

I'm a Hoth fanatic, so I'm very interested in what the 7879 Hoth Echo Base looks like. Perhaps the Power Generators? The ION Cannon? Looking forward to it.

I'm anxiously waiting for this year's news. The weather should be fine the next few days out on the right coast.

Ok, apparently Hasbro has a new knock-off Lego brand where they'll be selling "Lego" Transformers. While obviously not directly applicable on this site, it might be worth getting a look and posting some pics here, too. The brand name is "Kre-o" or something like that...

^ oh, we'll be talking about it. It was a well-kept secret, and maybe it should have stayed secret. Everyone wants Transformers Lego, but Built to Rule couldn't cut it, and I don't think this will, either. We got a VERY good look at the sets that will be for sale in the fall. We weren't able to take pics or video, but I got an up close look at every model for a good half hour or so. I'll share more thoughts later.

Looking at those "KRE-O Transformers" I'm wondering if there will be some litigation over some of those pieces...

Anyway.... Looking forward to any new LEGO SW news - especially from Hoth.

I'd love to see some closer up pictures of the POTC sets, especially the Queen Ann's Revenge. It'd also be cool to see those Jack Sparrow minifigures closer up too.

I'm really looking forward to this! I always enjoy FBTB's coverage. :)

So LEGO is held back from making stand-alone Star Wars figures because they're too close to action figures, but Hasbro can make LEGO set knockoffs?

Thanks for sharing the link. The more I see the new Falcon the less I like it. The mandibles look really disproportionate to rest of the ship. At $139.99, the price isn't too bad compared to some of the other sets that have been recently released. The new minifigs all across the board are looking really good.

Is it just me or does the Sith Nightspeeder look a little too wide? At $24.99 I guess you're really just paying for the minifigs.

Well, it isn't Star Wars related. I'm sure Hasbro can't take this new knockoff and make Star Wars sets. Though, if Lego lost or didn't renew the license and this Hasbro venture isn't a flop, maybe we're seeing hints of the future. Maybe Hasbro is sticking their toe in the door. Or not, I don't expect the quality to be "Lego" standard and I don't expect this line to grow to the point of becoming a sustainable line, even with the popularity of Transformers.

After looking at the 4504 Falcon a little closer, I'm fine with the mandibles in the new set. I just hadn't looked at that set in awhile.

No, you're right about the mandibles. The cockpit is attached to the ship at the wrong angle, and the mandibles are thinner as a result. And even if they weren't, the fact that there is a big gap where the port mandible meets the rest of the ship makes this set undesirable for me.

I really don't get why everyone likes this new Falcon so much; it's hardly any improvement over the last one.

The angles are off because they have divided the circumference of the ship into equal parts. The reference model is not precise like that.

I think people like the kit since the last play scale falcon was released in what 2004 so many people do not have one and everyone who is a OT fan wants a falcon.

I was blown away when I saw $70 for the Infiltrator. I was really looking forward to it. Talk about a buzz kill. Same with the Ewok Attack. $25, are you nerfing kidding me?
