Previewed at Star Wars Days at LEGOLand, CA a few weeks back, Brandon Griffith (icgetaway) has taken some high quality photos of his incredible The Empire Strikes Back chess set. Check out the full set of photos on flickr. This set was a follow up to his A New Hope chess set.

I noticed that he changed IG88 since Star Wars Days from black to dark grey. Good move. And mighty impressive set all around.

I love his way of building a mini AT-AT. So much better than the Lego one.
And I love that he includes cases for the figs for storing them when not playing.

This is really just amazing- the details of this thing are fantastic. Favorite part by far would have to be the holographic Emperor.

Griffith put so many amazing parts together to make this board - the AT-ATs, turrets, rock and snow landscape, and fig displays/holders would be remarkable on their own. Throw them all together and it's mind blowing. I would love to have something of this caliber on display at home.
