Why is there no pieces number on the box?

Boxes outside the US (Europe in particular I believe?) aren't required to show the piece count on the box.

Wasn't trying to be cynical, its just that the box looked off and some of the parts didn't look like they matched the box photo on the completed set.

It may be coming up on time for the release. I haven't checked because this is the first wave that has nothing of interest for me (except for maybe the new mid-scale).

What is the new mid-scale ship? I have not seen any pics and unless I am missing it, I don't think I have heard anything about a new mid-scale ship.

Have to be honest I'll probably give this one a miss, there just doesn't seem anything interesting or unique about it other than the mini figures.

Yeah, the set as is doesn't look awesome, but the figs do, and there's enough bricks there to warrant at least an "on sale" purchase. I'll wait on the price point to make a final decision but i'm probly game unless its horribly overpriced.

Surprisingly, I rather like it. Granted, it looks more like it belongs in the old Artic theme rather than Hoth, and I don't know what's up with the red 3PO, but overall it looks rather nice for the umpteenth Hoth set. The price point will be the determining factor for me, though, and I'm not holding my breath...

I would guess in the $120 to $140 dollar range.

I think this set will be along the same price as Home One...110. I don't see it hitting 120, b/c it doesn't look that big.

I hope it is priced like Home One. That means after a few months of sitting on shelves collecting dust, I'll be able to get it on sale of $70, which is the absolute maximum this set should be priced.

LOL that Hoth set is so underwhelming...
Aside from the fact that most of the bigger pieces are white, there really isn't much of anything that suggests Echo Base to me. No ion cannon, no shield generator, a random gantry placed on top of it all. Lego Star Wars has sure been getting worn out lately. Once again they seem to be relying on the figures to sell it, and I'm sure it will push $120, too. Ohhh yay, a random red protocol droid that no one has even heard of. It will be interesting to see how many people actually blow their money on it anyway, just to be completists. What a worthless set.

This, coupled with the CW faces, new "sparkley eyed" regular figs, and constant rehashes has diverted me into collecting the Halo Mega Blok line lately. Trust me, those have been MUCH more exciting than this year's SW wave. Not to mention a lot more affordable. Think I'll mostly stick with them for the time being.

First, I am not a fan of "play sets", but this seems very much like Echo base.

First, the red protocol droid is R-3PO. Obscure character, but here he is.

As for the base, I see 3 major Echo Base Elements.

1. Hanger Bay
2. Command Center
3. Med Lab

I know R-3PO is a real character but Lego clearly only included him so people would feel like they "just have to have" a red protocol droid.

Sure there are some memorable elements from TESB here, but they are few and tiny. I see:

1. The med bay, consisting of just the bacta tank and a table.
2. The command center, which isn't even large enough for two figs to sit in comfortably.
3. What are you calling the hangar bay? All that empty space in the middle? I really don't think the empty gaps in the walls should count as being a hangar. They are merely gaps since there are no large main shield doors anywhere here.

All the rest is just empty space and filler. A real "meh" set. It more resembles a space police station.

The new sets are available in Hong Kong. I have seen the MF, Genosian(?) fighters, the big Jedi ship and a few other things.
