Star Wars Trilogy Retold In 2 Minutes 13 Seconds Using LEGO

Postby Staff » Tue May 04, 2010 7:39 am

Title says it all, a very humorous take on the three films:

Wow. That is some good work. Everything works, the backgrounds, the "special effects", the sound effects, the humor.
Fantastic job.

Brilliant stuff.

I really loved the effects to create the explosions and splashes. Good stuff.

Which C-3P0 did they use? It looked like an extremely rare one.

Yeah, that's some of the best LEGO animation I've ever seen... almost reminded my of the video games in it's quality. The only other LEGO animation that I've seen that comes even close to the smoothness of this is Rymdreglade's 8-Bit Trip (which I listen to/watch on a regular basis). To be honest, I had some pretty low expectations going into this, but was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Good Show.

Does anybody know who made that? Was it someone from these boards? They seemed to have a very solid collection of Star Wars LEGO sets and minifigures.

The beauty of a LEGO MOC is not the elements that go into it, but the way those elements are put together.

That's great. Everything about this video works. The animation is top notch, the builds are excellent, and it's tremendously funny. Bravo to all involved in making this video.

The best part are the little background voices. Palpatine saying, "Nice to meet you" and then shocking the crap out of Luke was hilarious. Also, Han's muffled voice saying "Let me out" in the carbonite was great.

I'd be surprised if this wasn't done professionally, or at least in some non-amateur capacity. It was extremely well-made and I really appreciated how much of the effects were all done in camera through stop-motion, besides of course the HD screens that provided the backdrops - a set-up that worked surprisingly well.

This was on the LEGO Star Wars webpage first, so I'm pretty sure it was done professionally.

There's no way that this wasn't done by professionals, but that doesn't detract from just how well this was put together.

That was great! Some incredibly smooth animation there. I loved the backgrounds and that he actually used Lego for just about everything rather than just photoshopping in backgrounds or, worse, not having any at all. I also loved how he made the splashes and explosions out of Lego parts.
