i'd like to suggest that we stop posting how many you were able to pick up and the reasons why. your reasons are your own. this isn't a thread for bragging, and bragging is generally frowned upon anyway. if you were able to get they number that you wanted, congratulations. if you weren't, our condolences.

back on topic: seriously, does no one else think the figure is kinda ugly?

Comparing to another chrome figs, it's the worst of them. I haven't seen the 3PO yet, but I think Vader is the best chrome minifig out there, in aesthetic terms.

That's probably because 3PO is the only one that makes sense chromed...

In that case, I don't think you can say that the Vader is the best chromed minifig. The Vader looks pretty good, but it almost seems to have a blue pearlesence to it that isn't faithful to the real character. The C-3PO looks fantastic though. As fas as the ugliness of the Stormtrooper, I jut wonder if it's possible to chrome a white figure. That would have been way better than silver. This figure is unlike anything I've ever seen in the SW universe.

chrome a white figure... i suppose they could apply some coats of clear on it o make it shiny, like a new paint job on a car.

they really need to make chrome artoo finally. even though his dome wasn't exactly chrome, or all that shiny, it would complement threepio all too nicely.

Well yes, 3PO makes the most sense out of the three to be chromed, and looks way better than the ABS ones (at least based on what I saw on pictures, I never saw one in my own hands); but even though the real Vader is not fully covered in metal, I think they did a pretty good job with the chrome version. Just my opinion, of course different people will prefer different minifigs :)

And a chrome artoo would be lovely :D

Okay :x
I'm sorry I just wanted to do a favor to those who did not get the Chrome Stormtrooper.

I just applied for the Tradesmen usergroup but I'm not sure I'll be accepted yet.

This deal is now on in UK TRU ... you have to spend £29.99 (bit of a difference compared to the USA deal!!!) to get one.

Btw a month has thirty days not nine hours!
I sent you a message with the rules for joining at twelve today so no need
to try applying again nine hours later.

I'll take responsibility on that one. I didn't realize he had been denied for not being registered for month and suggested he reapply because I didn't see his name in the pending list.

Chrome stormies are "gone" in Portugal... last week I went to TRU, bought a set and asked if they had any. The girl said they were exclusive during last month and among the blablabla she gave me, they might have some around but they couldn't offer them :S I'm still trying when I get to another TRU..

Where did the chrome stormtroopers go?

Postby sadowsk1 » Mon Jun 14, 2010 5:09 am

I don't know if I blinked and missed it or if this happened a while ago, but when did lego stop selling the chrome stormtrooper magnets or am I just not looking in the right place on the site? Am I limited to ebay and bricklink if I'm interested in getting some?

They went away not long after the TRU promo ones came out several months ago.
