LEGO Star Wars Nintendo DS Lite Case

Postby Staff » Fri Oct 09, 2009 1:14 am

Have a DS? Love LEGO Star Wars? Ever wish you could get a specially designed DS case that features a tiled mosaic of LEGO Star Wars on it? Well, who hasn't right? Available this November for $14.99, you can preorder it from StarWarsShop.com. I'm pretty sure those are printed tiles.

This looks like a good buy, but a couple years back, I bought the sticker with Darth Vader on Mustafar (in LEGO). Oh well.

I wonder how uncomfortable that would be to have in your pocket, especially with the tiles missing...

Aren't these cases all too bulky for putting in the pocket?

This looks interesting because of the tiles

I dunno, I carried my old Gameboy (you know, that big, grey brick) in my pocket, so I'd imagine this would still fit in there.

on the assumptiont that they're printed tiles, is no-one else a little annoyed that Lego can sponsor / support the production of this but can't give us all printed tiles in actual Lego sets?!

Not really. I doubt that the scale of distribution for this particular accessory is even close to matching the distribution of all LEGO sets that have stickers.

And really, the sticker-whining is old. It isn't going away. Deal with it.

I wish there was more spec information on whether it would fit the DSi. Nintendo was smart in making the DSi slightly larger than the DS, therefore you have to get some new accesories including the covers/cases >:( . Even the screen is slightly larger so the protective films are too small. We had stocked on some accessories when they were on sale before we bought the dsi for our son.

on the topic of putting this in your pocket, unless you are planning to put this in cargo pants or coat/jacket pockets, I don't think the DS would fit comfortably into kids or adult pants pockets.

Well, then I must have magic pants, because I fit a wallet, a cellphone, a LEGO Millenium Falcon bagcharm\keychain with keys, an albuterol inhaler, an original DS, an original Gameboy, and a Gameboy Micro in the front two pockets of my carpenter jeans.

In any case, my point was wondering if it'd be uncomfortable because of the studs, rather than the size.

i doubt you carry that much junk in your pockets at the same time.

and even if you do, i doubt that it's very comfortable to sit unless your carpenter jeans are made by ClownPants Incorporated. less crap i have to lug around the better.

and if you only carry some of that stuff you listed, well that wasn't made very clear.

It looks cool. I just hope that the image is printed onto the tiles and is not a sticker. :(

I have verification that the LEGO Star Wars Nintendo DS Lite case will feature PRINTED tiles instead of stickers.

Wow, then $15 for 21 printed tiles seems like a decent price! :)

I'd be somewhat interested in getting this just for the 3x7 printed 2x2 tile scene itself.
