Do you have a tape measure? I caluculated that that makes it about 21.5 inches. Is that correct?

Well, I was sure wrong about this one. I was convinced it was "midi" and figureless. If I was on the fence with my $150, Captain Antilles pushed me over.

If you'll notice on the cone sections that make up the cockpit, specifically where the mold injection point is, those are in fact printed. So rejoice.

I'm pretty convinced it's printed. Nothing that big and round would last as a sticker. Big ups to LEGO on that one.

Son of a gun. This set is actually very nice looking and much larger than the first image made it look.

Now let's see this interior...

Scratch that last statement, you can see some of the interior on the box cover. It looks pretty good but I don't know if there was even any blue in the room, and the lack of white and trans red upsets me. The desk Leia is at is also the same one (or very close to it) from the new Venator set.

ahhh, now I see how we get a window in the cockpit at the front ... the cone pieces are clear and the rest is made of stickers!

Hmm... on second thought, the image on the box does not match... so that might still be a ticker. But I doubt it. In either case Ace should know by Friday since this should be on display at ComicCon.

I pray that you're correct ... can't check again though, cos the pics of the box and the ship aren't working any more at least not right now.

Based on that last pic, they really do look like stickers on the top cones, but perhaps printing on the bottom

The price per piece ratio is nice, especially given the recent trend for SW sets, too bad there's not much to offer for anyone who already has the UCS set. Not that I was expecting much more in the way of minifigs, but something new and totally out of left field, like the Kit Fisto that came with Obi-Wan's JSF probably would have convinced me to buy this set.

I am so wrong about this set. I thought it would be a remake of the
republic cruiser, nut now I know I was wrong. This set is awesome
and I am planning on getting it. The price hurts me, though.

I definitely like it. Hopefully it's not bigger than the 6211 Star Destroyer (I can't find the dimensions and mine is disassembled).

At the same price as the Venator (£98 - cheers for the update with the price) that's made one decision a whole lot easier. As much as I like a lot of sets, quite often I don't think they're worth the cost. This one definitely is. Can't wait to reenact that opening scene. I really like how they've done the engine section.

I wouldn't count on it. Since Lego.com is putting this under "UCS." We haven't gotten a real UCS set since the Falcon. When was that? '07?

Poor Australia has once again been overlooked in the pricing section of things. A$279. That equates to about $100 more than youse in the US pay for it!!! Somebody, what can I do to help stop the abomination!?!?!?!

You have NO IDEA how overwhelming it was to log on here after 3 days of being away at a place without computer access, and then seeing all these news updates on the front page, this one being of chief importance out of them all for me. I'm just so impressed... Except for that one window piece on the cockpit. That still irks me. But I digress. This is beautiful, and I'm especially in love with the engines. One thing I noticed is that GIR was right in thinking the 2 cylinders on the sides towards the back are the escape pods. And also:

My intial question that comes to mind is; is there landing gear for this puppy?

I'm not sure whether this comment was made before the set was revealed on S@H, but it appears that there is no landing gear. It seems that the ship is supported by the front bottom cannon as well as a cylindrical piece on the back, as can be seen here by way of 360 spin. I think landing gear would have been nice, but not if it was going to be like the Republic Cruiser landing gear. I don't own that set, but I've played with it and found the landing gear to be rather bad, IMO.

All in all, this looks to be like a great, decently-priced set to me. Hopefully I'll be able to pick it up along with all the others I've been planning to get. And it looks like I'll need to rethink my tentative plan to display the Venator next to my Star Destroyer...

Forgive me if this has been discussed already but, is this going to be an exclusive, limited to a certain store or just from Lego, or is it going to be available everywhere?
