I love the Advent calendar. I don't care how cheesy the astromech looks, I love it!

That being said, what has me the most excited is the Jedi Scout Fighter, and those lovely dark red flag cutouts. I can, at long last, make Obi-Wan's Eta2 without having to fork out an absurd amount of cash on the aftermarket!

I'm actually looking forward to all of these sets. The Jedi Scout Fighter and B-wing most of all. The Advent Calendar astromech is a little cheesy, but mate it with a regular droid head, I can make Corran Horn's astromech Whistler. Also, I like that we finally get a Gand figure. I like the new Star Destroyer set except for the fact the bridge doesn't look capable of housing a minifigure. Digging the new Vader in the ISD too.

The coolest thing for me is that the "Christmas Tree" Droid in the Advent Calendar is the body for the R2 head from the Micro Fighters X-Wing!!! XD

Lego really went all-out with the helmet molds. The new imperial minifigs all look so great. Even the Vader minifig has me excited. I won't be getting the Star Destroyer (I'm not big into the capital ship playsets, though I would have been as a kid), but I like how they made the front shaped like the command deck from Empire and made the bridge look more proportional and detailed.

I wasn't too excited about getting another landspeeder with the Cantina, but the new color and stickers have totally changed my mind. As I hoped, the Ithorian from the Jedi Scout Fighter looks general enough that you can put his head on another body for the Cantina. Greedo and the Cantina band all look as good as they possibly could, too. I love that Han Solo really looks like Harrison Ford now.

The B-wing is also a good one. The minifigs are insanely detailed, and the ship itself is one of the better B-wing's I've seen. The Airen Cracken minifig is a serious deep cut, too. Who would have ever guessed they would make a minifig of that guy?

Lego seems to be making a concerted effort to push detail and movie accuracy, and I love the results. For most of its lifetime, there has been a "Lego Star Wars" aesthetic that, while similar to the movies, felt distinct in its presentation and style (I think the games are also a big part of that, too). Here, these sets feel more immediately evoke the scenes and characters as they actually appeared. They still have their humor and levity they are known for (the bone for the dewback or the everpresent mug for command crew), but it feels a little less cartoony than it used to. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but its what I thinking after looking at this new Summer wave. I'm very excited.

I guess it will be harder to sell my extra UCS B-Wing now.

The cantina looks great! I love the new dewback mold, and the exclusive figures are all fantastic, as well as the build itself being cool! But, what happened to Luke's face? :S

Wow that B-Wing jumped from my 'no' to my 'yes' list pretty fast. Looks like a great ship and awesome figs.
That landspeeder is by far the best one they've done (would be fine in its own set and put the parts into a better size cantina...might need to ebay a second set minus the figs).
Snowspeeder, ATAT and ISD rehashes have nothing to tempt (my wallet sighs with relief).
Advent cal looks good - pity they didnt make a 'conehead' in the proportion of the R4 droid

I love the minifigs for the B-wing but I think the ship itself was done better by the 2006 version. This will be a real dilemma for me.

Nice photos, thanks for the report.

So no new helmet for Vader? With everybody else getting a new mold, I thought maybe his time had come… oh well.

All in all a pretty exciting crop of sets. Noticed a few interesting things:

1) New Snowtrooper helmet molds with AT-AT - but for some reason the Advent calender is the old mold?
2) Why is a Death Star Trooper in a Star Destroyer?

Also, call me old fashioned, but while I like the new Dewback mold, I almost prefer the original b/c I feel it was more "true" to Lego, made use of some existing parts, and seemed like a better fit into the Lego universe.

Mixed feelings on the Cantina. On the one hand, the new Ben is great, and it looks pretty cool opened up. On the other, it looks dire when closed (thanks for that shot... had been waiting for someone to take it) and I don't care for the three Bith. Why is there a bar with no bartender? Luke might end up waiting there a fair while... and there's no one for him to pick a fight with either :(

The B-Wing is my favourite rebel ship so I'll have to pick this one up I guess. No idea who the figures are though, aside from Nien Numb. And I thought I had a pretty good knowledge of obscure background characters :(

The Star Destroyer is very welcome, though it's reignited my desire for a non-CW Venator which will probably now never happen with Disney's OT focus. Sigh.

I was initially pretty excited when the names of these sets were announced a little while back, but seeing them 'in the flesh', I'm a little disappointed. The majority of these releases are redesigns, but the term 'redesign' is being a little too generous. Comparing these sets to previous designs, I can't see an awful lot of difference, with the worst offender being the snowspeeder.
-Or where areas have been done differently, they look worse when compared to the originals (particularly the air intake on the b-wing). I may just be bitter from the fact that it seems like I'll be getting less for my money, considering the previous iterations of the snowspeeder and b-wing sets included some additional builds such as a wampa, or a docking station etc.

However, I can appreciate that these sets are all welcome additions to the Star Wars line considering that it's been a hot minute since we saw the last versions of these ships/ locations. -and the fact that this is a very OT-heavy wave: something else that we haven't seen for a while. Kudos to LEGO for incorporating that neat play feature with the two Rebels sets as well. That docking feature is pretty cool.

On the other hand, the minifigures in this wave have won me over. My particular favourites are the b-wing crew and the Twi'lek included in The Ghost. The Dewback is pretty sweet too. And the Bith. And the Ithorian. I guess I may be making a few purchases from this line after all.

I am surprised at the amount of positive comments. I like all of these sets, but I was prepared for a collective outrage at what they had done with the stormtroopers. I'm still somewhat undecided on them. I have been waiting for a minifig-scale b-wing for a while, and I absolutely love it. All of these sets look really good, but with an August release date, I guess I will have to wait for Christmas.

Well, gorram, this year's going to be expensive.

I don't care for the Ghost, the Phantom and AT-AT are maybes, everything else I kinda want.

Can't wait for the Advent Calendar. Santa Vader looks sweet, a shame there's no red helmet. Christmas tree droid looks meh. Plus it's a new way to get General Riekkan who I wanted but never got the set with.
Thought you'd like this about the Vatican cameos.

Who are the minifigures in the Snowspeeder set? I like the new Snowtrooper helmets. Paint one blue, and it could almost pass for Cobra Commander's hood from the 80s G.I. Joe
