Amazon has placed a pretty nice discount on 9496 Desert Skiff. The set has an MSRP of $24.99 but you can pick it up for 28% off, $17.97. There is no tax to most states and free shipping if you buy two or pad your order with something else to push it over the $25 threshold. Ever since the holidays, sales news has been pretty light so it's good to see a decent discount on a great set.

Seeking to wash their hands of this controversial set, Amazon has discounted LEGO Star Wars 9516 Jabba's Palace by 17% dropping the price down to below the $100 threshold at $99.97. I'm totally kidding about that first part; it's probably just coincidence. Anyways, no tax free shipping yadda yadda yadda. If you're looking for the companion Rancor set, 75005 Rancor Pit, it's still sitting pretty at a mere 6% off, $56.44.

Thank you for posting this up! I went to Wal-Mart over the weekend to pick up the desert skiff and tried to price match but the cashier said they don’t price match against their website.

So I told him, fine I’ll just order online and pick it up in later on. The cashier was like a teenager, he didn’t really care. Bad customer service, but can’t beat the price. Great set for under $20.
