21010 Robie House, 21011 Brandenburg Gate Now Available

Postby Staff » Thu Sep 01, 2011 10:32 am

The two newest additions to the LEGO Architecture line are now available from LEGO Shop@Home: 21010 Robie House weighs in at a whopping 2,276 pieces and will set you back $199.99; 21011 Brandenburg Gate is a paltry 363 pieces and cost you $34.99.

That Robie House will be the first Architecture set I buy. I hope they make more sets of this size and scope.

These both look like great models. I know some have complained about a lack of detail on the Brandenburg Gate, but I still find the scale attractive. The price points are finally matching up with the products, too, making these even more enticing.

I wish I could afford these. I'm a fan of Wright, and this Robie House model is outstanding. Fallingwater was a very nice rendition, too. (The Guggenheim model was a hideous embarassment. It wasn't even remotely accurate, due to the small scale. I'm glad they are using a scale that allows for greater accuracy with the later Wright models.)

I haven't really been too impressed by the Architectural series from Lego but the Robie House is interesting and I like the color of the red bricks and the layout done for this set.

While it's expensive it's not that bad with the number of pieces 2276 however I don't see a scale/dimensional size for this on Lego@shop but on the shop@wright site it has it listed as being 7 ½" w x 4 ¾" h x 16 1/4" l
I may consider picking this up...
