Hey everyone! I just received an email with a coupon that says Buy 1 get 1 50% off on ALL Lego Star Wars construction sets. In store only, one coupon per guest and it works only Friday and Saturday!! Seriously...about time!!

If you're lucky, and I'm always lucky, you can actually find republic gunships in your store and get them for the bogo 50%. Other sets I'd recommend are the 6212 xwing and count dooku's piece of junk (I don't like it) since both are tru exclusives you will rarely ever see a discount on.

Want to know what's sad? It wouldn't surprise me at all if their prices were marked up a little more. We'll see tomorrow.

No, but the store closest to me has SW sets mysteriously leave the shelves before the sale starts. The only thing in stock will be battle packs and a few $25 sets so the shelves aren't totally empty.

Just got back from TRU. My local store (Chicago) has sets marked up big time. All of the $110 sets are at $130. It really sucks.

If my math is right, it's barely 11% savings.

$130 + $130 - $65 = $195 out of pocket
$110 + $110 = $220 suggested retail pricing
$220 SRP - $195 OOP = $25 "true" savings
$25 savings / $220 SRP = roughly 11%

I'm new to all this LEGO mania so I'm wondering if one of you old guard can tell me... is this the best it gets for these Star Wars sets?

Should have known it was too good to be true, but I expect that type of price hike from TRU. I might consider stopping in at TRU, just to see what they have.

Just got back from SC TRU, and the prices were only the normal TRU markup (they didn't add any additional price increase for the BOGO). Also, they had the Emperor Palpatine's Shuttle marked as $59.99 on their shelves, so that was actually cheaper than the normal TRU markup (had to tell her at the register because it still rang up as $64.99).

Don't forget about those little 30005 Stormies in polybags too...they end up being $3/ea after the discount :-)
