LEGO Deals For December 13-19

Postby Staff » Mon Dec 14, 2009 1:37 am

Posted below are this week's deals for both online and in store shopping. I've also posted shipping deadlines for Christmas delivery for all the online stores. Biggest deal: Target.com has 2010 sets on their site for order. See below for details.

Update 4:31pm 12/14: Added Kmart and Sears BOGO sales.

Amazon.com

  • Amazon's Lightning Deals has LEGO Indiana Jones 7683 Fight On The Flying Wing for it's 8:00am PST deal.

  • Other than the Lightning Deal, I couldn't really find any other notable sales on LEGO sold by Amazon other than 10189 Taj Mahal for $269, down from $299. The catch is that it's not in stock but you can place your order and it'll ship to you once they get it.

eToys.com

  • eToys.com has 10179 Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falconicon in stock for $469.99. You can apply coupon code ETFRIENDS to knock off another $20 dollars. You'll get dinged for tax and shipping, so the you may break even and pay MSRP. For me in California, my total came out to $508.84. This is currently the best deal for this set. Unsure when the coupon is set to expire, but it looks like midnight tonight Monday December 14.

Kmart

  • Buy 1, get 1 50% off all LEGO.

LEGO Shop@Home

LEGO Brand Retail
Last Day for FREE Shipping: 12:00noon EST Monday December 14
Last Day for Fed Ex 2nd Day: 2:00pm EST Monday December 21
Last Day for Fed Ex Next Day: 2:00pm EST Tuesday December 22

  • LEGO Shop@Home's Sales and Deals pageicon has a few items, some key chains and a magnet set or two, that are on sale, but nothing to get too excited over.

Meijer

  • In store: Buy 2 get 1 Free on ALL LEGO. Third item must be equal or lesser value. No restrictions on theme.

Sears

  • In store: Buy any toy, get one 50% off

Target

Target.com has a sliding scale for shipping depending on the stock status of the item you are looking to buy, the time table below is for items labeled as In Stock. All cut off times are 11:30 p.m., CST:

Last day to order with Standard Shipping: Monday December 21
Last day to order with 2-day shipping: Monday December 21
Last day to order with 1-day shipping: Tuesday December 22

  • No LEGO on sale this week; considering the savings they were offering last week, I'm not surprised.

  • Target.com is the first online retailer that has some 2010 LEGO product available for order online. In particular for LEGO Star Wars, they have 8087 TIE Defender for $49.99 and 8086 Droid Tri-Fighter for $24.99. Hit the banner above and do a search for LEGO Star Wars to find them.

  • For LEGO Toy Story they have 7592 Construct-a-Buzz for $24.98 and 7590 Woody and Buzz to the Rescue for $19.99. Hit the banner above and do a search for LEGO Toy Story.

  • The 10% off coupon code still seems to work, but there is no more free shipping.

Toys'R'Us

Toys R Us

Last day to order for Standard Shipping: Sunday December 20
Last day to order for Expedited Shipping: 3pm EST Tuesday December 22
Last day to order for Express Shipping: 3pm EST Wednesday December 23

  • Toys'R'Us has a 25% off sale on some LEGO Star Wars sets: 8036 Separatist Shuttleicon down to $23.24, TRU regular retail price $30.99; 8019 Republic Attack Shuttleicon down to $46.49, TRU regular retail price $61.99; 8037 Anakin's Y-Wing Starfightericon down to $45.74, TRU regular retail price $60.99. Deal is good both online and in-store.

  • A few TRU exclusives are experiencing a price cut of 33% off: 7635 Horse Trailericon, a very superb set, is down to $16.74, TRU regular retail price $24.99; 7746 Single Drum Rollericon is down to $21.43, TRU regular retail price $31.99. Deals are good both online and in store.

  • If you purchase online and use Paypal for payment, you'll enjoy a $20 instant discount off your order of $75 or more. Unfortunately, there is no more free shipping on LEGO (except for 10179 Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falconicon) so the $20 bucks you save should cover tax and standard shipping and maybe a few pennies more depending on your order.

Also you can add these stores to the list:

K-Mart: Buy one LEGO, get one 50% off (it looks like "in store" only)
Sears: Buy any toy, get one 50% off (applies to all toys including LEGO). I sometimes find good older sets at Sears Grand stores. Regular Sears stores have much smaller selection, if any. (also looks like "in store" only)

Shoot! I keep missing out on the 50% off deals! At least I got the 33% off Home One. I guess I'll just have to wait until the post-Christmas Target sales.

BTW, Meijer is having 15% off general merchandise today (Monday) if you pay using the Meijer store credit card. I have successfully stacked that in the past on sales/clearance items. Lego/Toys are considered general merchandise. That effectively makes Lego half-off today. If you don't have a Meijer card, you get 10% off your first purchase (might not stack?) when you sign up.

However, since they already had a B2G1 on Black Friday and they don't usually restock Lego after BF, expect selections to be poor.

*edit*
I had no problem stacking the discount tonight. Also, apparently they were giving 30% off your first purchase with a new card app instead of the usual 10% so said the roving store clerk w/ clipboard. Meijer also has some Lego "Project Cases", which are essentially cheap plastic storage cases with pictures of minifig heads on them. These would be pretty ho-hum except they each come with a 32 x 32 green baseplate. Normally, $9 these are $7 until Christmas eve (or $6 tonight with the discount). Given the cost of the green baseplate, the tote is basically free. These were on the storage aisle endcaps of 3 of the Meijer stores I went to tonight.

Shopko, with stores in 13 states, has their entire stock of toys at Buy One, Get One 50% off this week. Shopko tends to jack up their prices at least as bad as TRU though, and around here their selection ranges from small to almost non-existent. Online they have only two LEGO sets available - Darth Vader's TIE and Separatists Shuttle, both at $35.

Fred Meyer / Smith's Marketplace / other Kroger-owned department stores:

All LEGO is 20% off regular prices, which are the same prices as LEGO Shop At Home. There is a 10% off all toys in the flyer/ad at the front of the store, so it essentially makes all LEGO 30% off. Some items are already on sale, so aren't included in the 20% off deal, like 7199 Temple of Doom ($69.99) and 7682 Shanghai Chase ($23.99), but you can still take off the 10% extra with the coupon. They have a pretty good selection - all 2009 Indiana Jones sets, 6243 Brickbeard's Bounty, 7641 City Corner, and 8038 Battle of Endor .

I found Home One at TRU in Indiana last night on sale for $89.99 ($20 off). The sign said the sale lasted until 12/25.

I don't know how widespread these stores are around the country, but they are plentiful in the West. Smith's Marketplace (same as Fred Meyer or Kroger) still has 20% off all LEGO plus the 10% off toys flyer coupon making LEGO basically 30% off. I should have bought a few of the Endor Battle ($71.99) and Echo Base ($17.99) sets when I had the chance earlier this week. I was able to pick up the last Endor Battle, City Corner, Drawbridge Defense, Robo Attack and several Cairo Ambush tonight, but other than that it was pretty slim pickins. Supplies of the larger sets are dwindling fast, so get down there if you want some good deals.
